It’s August already, can you believe how fast the summer is going? We live for this time of year, we only get a few months of warm weather, but I can tell you, we spend a lot of time in our backyard. I’m so excited to finally be sharing our outdoor patio update with you! We’ve always loved this space but with our latest refresh, we love it more than ever out here.
I can’t wait for you to see it! Scroll down to see all our gorgeous new pieces from Safavieh, who I’ve partnered with to create our update, and how we pulled the look together with our existing pieces. I know you’ll love this as much as we do!
Iād like to extend a HUGE thank you to Safavieh, for gifting many of the new products for our updated space! While I received these in exchange for this post, all opinions are my own…we’re thrilled with them all! Affiliate links are provided throughout this post ā see my full disclosure policy here.
OUR OUTDOOR PATIO UPDATE: THE DINING ZONE
If you’re familiar with our outdoor patio, we have three distinctive areas we’ve created out here – a dining zone, lounge zone and conversation zone. Our outdoor patio is so great for entertaining with all of the different functions it provides, and with this latest refresh, it’s more beautiful than ever before!
Let’s take a look at our dining space first. You may have seen our wingback chairs used with our dining table in some of my previous entertaining posts (click here for one of my faves), and we knew when we added our new daybed to our conversation zone (more on that in a bit!), these chairs would replace our previous end chairs and sit at our table permanently.
One of our objectives was to brighten up our entire outdoor patio, so we added all new outdoor rugs as well. Our Hamptons-inspired Courtyard blue and beige striped rugs are the perfect compliment to these new chairs, and all of our new outdoor pieces. They’re very durable and hold up very well to the rain too. I just love the stripe and the classic feel they bring.
Some blue and white, ginger jars, and freshly cut hydrangeas from our garden always make me smile. I love to use indoor accessories when I decorate outdoors, especially if we’re entertaining. Bring the indoors out and make it special!
THE GAZEBO: OUR LOUNGE ZONE
On to our lounge zone next, our gazebo also has a few new accessories to help brighten things up as well. Our new Linden cream and blue geometric rug is the perfect piece to help ground all of our dark furniture, and it’s such a huge change from the black rug we had here previously. It’s amazing how much lighter it feels!
We bought new white planters (find similar ones here) and these white sheer curtains to help lighten and brighten the look even more. I shared our ‘outdoor living room’ before these updates a while ago, click here to see the dramatic difference!
We ordered these cute woven poufs locally (I shared them in my summer entryway post, here), and I love their natural tone against all of the blues and darker furniture in this space. Brightening things up was our goal, but I also wanted to add natural tones (these balance out our new bistro chairs too) throughout each space to bring in variation and texture. Some woven as well as brass lanterns help with that too.
OUR FAVORITE SPOT: OUR CONVERSATION ZONE
This is our favorite place to linger when we’re out here. Whether it’s me and the hubs, the kids are hanging out, or our friends are over, this is the place to be! I wanted it to feel like another outdoor living room area that’s welcoming, comfortable, luxe and gorgeous of course!
The star of our entire outdoor patio update is this absolutely gorgeous navy and white outdoor Pasadena daybed. It is so comfortable, and invites you to lounge for hours. The lines of the wood frame are beautiful, and with our new striped rug, it’s such a chic mix.
Keeping with using a natural element throughout our patio, we chose this beautiful and contemporary Maple coffee table to mix in with everything else. It is a gorgeous piece! Don’t be afraid to mix – I say it so often! You don’t always have to have ‘sets’ of things to make them work!
