OUR OUTDOOR PATIO UPDATE IS HERE!

| |

It’s August already, can you believe how fast the summer is going? We live for this time of year, we only get a few months of warm weather, but I can tell you, we spend a lot of time in our backyard. I’m so excited to finally be sharing our outdoor patio update with you! We’ve always loved this space but with our latest refresh, we love it more than ever out here.

I can’t wait for you to see it! Scroll down to see all our gorgeous new pieces from Safavieh, who I’ve partnered with to create our update, and how we pulled the look together with our existing pieces. I know you’ll love this as much as we do!

I’d like to extend a huge thank you to Safavieh, for gifting many of the new products for our updated space! While I received these in exchange for this post, all opinions are my own…we’re thrilled with them all! Affiliate links are provided throughout this post  – see my full disclosure policy here. OUR OUTDOOR PATIO UPDATE: THE DINING ZONE

If you’re familiar with our outdoor patio, we have three distinctive areas we’ve created out here – a dining zone, lounge zone and conversation zone.

Beautiful backyard patio dining table with wingback chairs, bistro chairs, striped table cloth, ginger jars and hydrangeas.

Our outdoor patio is so great for entertaining with all of the different functions it provides, and with this latest refresh, it’s more beautiful than ever before!

Let’s take a look at our dining space first.

Backyard dining table with wingback chairs and bistro chairs.

You may have seen our wingback chairs used with our dining table in some of my previous entertaining posts (you can visit one of my favorite posts), and we knew when we added our new daybed to the conversation zone (more on that in a bit!), these chairs would replace our previous end chairs and sit at our table permanently.

They mix so beautifully with our new Rosen bistro style chairs from Safavieh. I love the addition of these chairs so much!

The woven texture, the navy and white colors, and the light wood tone of the frame (these are actually painted metal, so they’re perfect for outdoors) are so chic.

Makes me feel I’ve been transported to the French Riviera somewhere…

One of our objectives was to brighten up our entire outdoor patio, so we added all new outdoor rugs as well.

Our Hamptons-inspired Courtyard blue and beige striped rugs are the perfect compliment to these new chairs, and all of our new outdoor pieces.

They’re very durable and hold up very well to the rain too. I just love the stripe and the classic feel they bring.

Some blue and white, ginger jars, and freshly cut hydrangeas from our garden always make me smile.

I love to use indoor accessories when I decorate outdoors, especially if we’re entertaining.Bring the indoors out and make it special!

THE GAZEBO: OUR LOUNGE ZONE

Gorgeous outdoor patio with gazebo for lounging.

On to our lounge zone next, our gazebo also has a few new accessories to help brighten things up as well. Our new Linden cream and blue geometric rug is the perfect piece to help ground all of our dark furniture, and it’s such a huge change from the black rug we had here previously.

It’s amazing how much lighter it feels!

We bought new white planters (see similar) and these white sheer curtains to help lighten and brighten the look even more.

I shared our outdoor living room before we made these updates a while ago – what a dramatic difference!

We ordered these cute woven poufs locally (see similar), I shared them in my summer entryway post, and I love their natural tone against all of the blues and darker furniture in this space.

Brightening things up was our goal, but I also wanted to add natural tones (these balance out our new bistro chairs too) throughout each space to bring in variation and texture.

Some woven, as well as brass lanterns help to achieve that also.

OUR FAVORITE SPOT: OUR CONVERSATION ZONE

Gorgeous outdoor patio featuring outdoor living spaces for lounging, dining and relaxing!

This is our favorite place to linger when we’re out here. Whether it’s me and my husband, Neil, the kids are hanging out, or our friends are over, this is the place to be!

I wanted it to feel like another outdoor living area that’s welcoming, comfortable, luxe and gorgeous of course!

Beautiful outdoor patio with navy and white sofa filled with blue and white block-print pillows.

The star of our entire outdoor patio update is this absolutely gorgeous navy and white outdoor Pasadena daybed.

It is so comfortable, and invites you to lounge for hours.

Beautiful outdoor navy and white daybed layered with blue and white block-print pillows.

The lines of the wood frame are beautiful, and with our new striped rug, it’s such a chic mix.I styled it with a new collection of block printed pillows (see similar) that I ordered from Etsy mixed in with some favorite stripes and the results are so beautiful. The navy is so pretty with all of that vibrant white.

Wicker outdoor coffee table with hydrangeas.

Keeping with using a natural element throughout our patio, we chose this beautiful and contemporary woven coffee table to mix in with everything else. It is a gorgeous piece!

Don’t be afraid to mix – I say it so often! You don’t always have to have ‘sets’ of things to make them work. This table is not for outdoors either, but we made our own cover for it and we plan to waterproof it as well. I bought this spray that is supposed to be very good, so fingers crossed it does the trick.

Outdoor white ceramic garden stool.

We added some small blocks of cedar underneath to keep it off the ground as well, so no moisture builds up underneath. A pretty ceramic garden stool, like our new Dynasty Filigree stool, is always a gorgeous addition. I love to use garden stools anywhere as side tables or extra seating, and naturally, they’re always perfect in any outdoor space.

We could not be happier with how this outdoor patio update came together. It’s more beautiful than ever out here, more comfortable than ever before, and more welcoming and luxe, that is for sure!

Happy rest of summer my friends, we’ll be relaxing here soaking it all up! xo

  2. I am obsessed!!! I LITERALLY will be copying the whole thing for our outdoors-it’s perfect and we live in MA so summers are short as well. I was wondering if you have a post or ideas regarding a BBQ area outdoors? Or someone you recommend for inspiration. It is the only zone left I have to be inspired for. Thank you again!
