CHIC FALL BEDROOM WITH GORGEOUS LAYERED BEDDING AND PILLOWS
Welcome to our chic fall bedroom! We’re already near the end of August and where we live, the mornings and nights are already getting very cool. That means that sadly, I have to admit summer is coming to an end soon and it’s time to layer in the fall pieces. For our fall home this year, I’m introducing a gorgeous warm color palette to pair with my existing blue and white. You can see more of this look in our fall inspiration post. For fall, I love making small changes around our home that bring in a little more warmth and coziness and in our bedroom, I turned to one of my favorite decorating tricks: layering beautiful patterns, textures, and colors for a chic, collected look. I paired the warm, earthy colors with our existing blue bedding that I love so much and layered gorgeous block print pillows in ivories, beiges, and blues. The result is a beautiful and chic fall bedroom look that feels cozy and inviting, while still feeling elegant, fresh, and very much like our home.

CHIC FALL BEDDING: A STUDY IN PRINTS

The bedding and pillows are the star of our fall bedroom refresh – I wanted to show how easily you can give a space an entirely different feeling simply by introducing a new combination of color and pattern.
I started with this beautiful, reversible quilt set, which features a plethora of colors – the rich, warm tones really caught my eye and I love the light blue accents in it that coordinate with our existing blue block print bedding and our bedroom’s color palette – I love how the warm, earthy colors balance the cool tones in the room without competing with them.

One of my favorite things about decorating with block prints is the way the patterns work together. They don’t have to match perfectly – in fact, I think a room is much more interesting when they don’t. Florals, motifs in various sizes, borders, and half-drop patterns can all be layered together as long as they share a common color palette. I love the juxtaposition and dynamic tension!

Here, the warm tones create that cozy fall feeling while the blue keeps everything feeling light and fresh. The combination feels collected rather than overly coordinated, which is exactly what I always try to achieve when decorating.
I also carried the pattern mix onto our pillows, layering different scales and designs across the bed. Mixing patterns is one of my favorite ways to create a bed that feels full, luxurious, and inviting without feeling busy.

A CLOSER LOOK AT THE DETAILS

I added a few simple details to our fall bedroom to bring even more coziness and interest into our space. The woven hurricane lanterns on the bedside tables are one of my favorite pieces. I use these all over our home, both in the summer and the fall. Their natural texture works beautifully with the earthy colors in the bedding and adds a natural element to the room – and I love the warm glow of the candlelight.

I actually swapped our light blue lamps for these Ralph Lauren beauties that have lived in our living room for the last year or so.

If you know me well, you know I love moving pieces around the house from space to space. It can make something you already own feel completely new and helps to refresh any room in an instant.

I think these lamps are stunning in here and just love the maximalist pattern mixing that’s happening.

My heart always skips a beat when mixing prints and this pillow combination is the prettiest! Block prints have always been one of my favorite textiles and these beautiful pillows work perfectly with this quilt set.

The colors tie cohesively together for such a chic look – and I love the visual tension all the patterns create together.

At the end of the bed, I added a light blue tray to our bench and topped it with this beautiful blue and white footbath planter filled with faux hydrangeas. This was such a fun new find, especially since I’ve been looking for one for a long time – I knew the moment I found it that it would be perfect in here and I even bought two of them! This cozy beige check throw adds another layer of softness to the room – a simple detail that makes a bedroom feel instantly more comfortable and inviting.

OUR FALL BEDROOM FEELING

What I love most about our fall bedroom look is that it doesn’t feel like a completely different space. We love our bedroom and the luxe, intimate feeling it already has, but the addition of warmer colors and layered patterns gives it a whole new mood for the season.

The soft blue walls, blue drapery, and existing blue and white pieces provide a beautiful foundation. Adding the warm, rusty-brown tones and varying colors through the bedding and accessories warms everything up and gives the room that cozy fall feeling I was looking for.

To me, this is what seasonal decorating is all about – bringing in some new textiles, introducing a gorgeous color combination, layering in a few items with texture and personality, and using the pieces you love alongside something new.

Our completed fall bedroom feels warm, comfortable, collected, elegant and so chic – all while still being light and inviting. I hope you’re inspired today to bring in something new and unexpected! Layer those patterns and combine colors you might not normally think of – you may be very pleasantly surprised. xo
