ONE BED, ELEVEN LOOKS: REINVENT YOUR BEDROOM!

|

You know by now that changing our bedding is a thing for me, right? Soon, our bed will be changing too, along with a bedroom refresh of a few more things in here also. What better time than now to share all the different looks our bed has seen over the last few years – today I’m sharing one bed, eleven looks and how I achieved each one with different bedding and accents to complete the look.

If you haven’t seen my recent post about our bedroom refresh, you can read all about it here and get a peek at the design board that showcases our new bed, lighting, bedding and rug. I am so excited to get going on this project – a few changes will be a world of difference! Stay tuned for the reveal in a few weeks.

ONE BED, ELEVEN LOOKS – SPRING BEDDING IDEAS

Spring is a time for renewal and rebirth and I love to bring that sense of newness to our bedroom at this time of year. I used to keep the same duvet sets and rotate only between the warm and cool months, but for the past few years since I’ve started blogging, I like to rotate our bedding every season – and I love it! I still like to keep the same sets, I just update them a little more often than I used to, along with my throw pillows and accessories.

It’s such a great way to give your bedroom a whole new look, without spending a fortune. Since this is my business, I know it’s a little easier for me to change up my bedding as often as I do – I’ll be honest – I often buy new bedding (like the blue and white medallion print above – see more of this look here) but I also often get new linens when I work with brands, so I know I’m very fortunate to be able to have the luxury of beautiful new bedding so often!

My spring bedding looks have all been pretty different and I love each one equally, I can tell you that! One of my favorites is the navy Chinoiserie print (shown above). It’s not available anymore, but I’ve included shopping links to similar looks a little further down. You can see more of last year’s spring look here.

My recent spring bedding (see more of it here) is a crisp and clean duvet set, that I debuted last Christmas. I love the soft, french blue border and monogram detailing on the shams. Effortless and classic. Graphic, vibrant ikat pillows punctuate the bed and create a strong focal point, while my faux hydrangeas add a soft feminine touch.

ONE BED, ELEVEN LOOKS – SUMMER BEDDING IDEAS

For this summer look, I used my same blue and white medallion print bedding from the spring, but added a few bo-ho touches to create a more relaxed look. I added pattern and texture with the pillows, and instead of an actual throw blanket, I layered the bed with this gorgeous tablecloth – yes, tablecloth! The patterns and cute little pompom fringe-edge detailing were the perfect addition that I needed. See more of this summer bedroom from two years ago here.

Our relaxed, coastal-chic look below from last summer (see more here), uses my white and navy hotel-style bedding (it’s also layered together with my navy Chinoiserie bedding from my spring look further up), a pillow with nautical rope detailing, and striped euro shams. I wanted this space to feel like we were on vacation, and bringing in those coastal elements was just what this look needed. I added texture with the lanterns at the foot of our bed to tie it all together.

ONE BED, ELEVEN LOOKS, WINTER + FALL BEDDING IDEAS

Our previous grey on grey bedroom made it’s debut back in January 2016, when I first started to blog on a more serious note. This cozy cocoon was such a comforting retreat, it’s curated and collected look was all about layering pattern and texture – one of my favorite styling tricks – to personalize our bedroom. This space has changed quite a lot since then, but it still remains one of my favorite looks. Read all about this dreamy bedding look here.

Let’s jump ahead to the fall of that year, where I reintroduced this same grey duvet set after we had refreshed our bedroom with new paint and lighting, moved our bed to the longer wall, and brought in our blue and white set that spring and summer (you can see that room makeover here). Using what I already had, I layered this bedding look with some chic and preppy pillows and a cozy striped throw.

Here is another one of my favorite bedding looks! Navy and gold, and all things rich and tailored, this dreamy bedding below, was inspired by Ralph Lauren and Barclay Butera. For me, this was the perfect luxe retreat for fall, with cozy enveloping layers of leopard, paisley and rich colors, and a balance of feminine and masculine elements. Read all about this gorgeous bedding look here.

The following fall, I used a very similar formula, but the color palette is reversed. Layers of rich textures with a cozy faux fur throw and leopard that I love so much, a navy and gold palette still reigns as one of my go-to’s. Using everything I already owned, I created this bedding look only spending money on my fresh flowers. Read all about this look here.

ONE BED, ELEVEN LOOKS – HOLIDAY BEDDING IDEAS

You all know I’m partial to blue and white, and clearly red is a rare sight in our home! This look was such a dream to create! I used a mix of tartan layers to create this look – an oversized tartan together with a smaller-scale one, I paired the mix with my trusty leopard pillows and some chic striped pillows. Our bedroom was a cozy and luxe cabin retreat for the holiday and winter.

Last, but most definitely not least, last year’s holiday bedding look was festive and luxurious, and bringing in the layers of faux greenery was a first for me in our bedroom, but we loved it for the holidays! Since we don’t have a guest room, I turned our master bedroom into a warm and chic guest retreat for the holidays. Read all about this beautiful look here.

I could reinvent our bed over and over! I’ve actually created even more than these eleven looks in our bedroom, but these are the ones that topped my list and had enough variation between them.
