COLORFUL LIVING ROOM DECOR FOR SPRING

|

Happy March and almost spring! Today I’m sharing how I’m using touches of bright, chic colorful living room decor for the season. I’ve kept things simple in this space this spring, with strategic doses of color sprinkled around our home. Here, in our living room, I’ve used gorgeous, vivid hues through art, pillows, and just a few key accessories. I am a color lover and in my humble opinion, all colors work together, even if you think they don’t! I’ve chosen pops of blues, oranges, reds and some greens as well alongside our home’s signature blue and white palette. With just a few splashes of color here and there, the results are a stunning, sophisticated and welcoming space. I hope you love our colorful spring look as much as we do!

Most of our home decor and my favorite picks are linked to shop in my Amazon Shop and LTK Shop – feel free to peruse either one with tons of ideas and inspiration. xo

COLORFUL SPRING LIVING ROOM DECORATING

Welcome to our spring living room – I’m loving the chic, colorful look in here this season.

To start off as you enter our living room, I arranged these gorgeous faux cherry blossoms that create such a beautiful statement in my favorite oversized ginger jar.

Flanked by chic pops of red ginger jars on each side, this styled vignette on our buffet sets the stage for what’s to come as you walk into our living room.

Gorgeous, vibrant pillows, blue and white vases and jars as usual of course, art and books, all help to tell the story that brings this year’s colorful living room decor together.

I wanted mostly everything else in the space to be neutral and calming, so the few touches of color wouldn’t have to compete with anything else in the room.

If you take a look throughout our living room, you’ll see how color is used thoughtfully around the space – just enough to bring my spring story to life and not so much that it’s overwhelming.

Strategic color placement is all you need to bring your home to life and tell a colorful story.

If you take a close look at each image today, you’ll find how color is used sparingly, but it also makes a gorgeous, chic statement.

BOOKSHELVES DECORATED FOR SPRING

Our bookshelves often have a few of the same pieces styled on them, rotated through the seasons.

These are always my favorite pieces that I’ve either collected through the years, or that have been handed down to me.

This spring, I kept our shelves mostly neutral, with layers of white, cream, ivory and gold accents, with blue chinoiserie and pieces and art.

I curated a small grouping of art on each side of our bookshelves, to pull in my seasonal color palette.

I found all of these digital prints on Etsy, which is a fantastic resource for downloadable art.

DECORATING TIP

Art is the perfect way to introduce color into your space without making a huge commitment – especially when you can download and print any size you want for a minimal cost.

Pulling my colors from our new spring pillows, I used oranges and blues as my main theme.

Orange and blue are complimentary colors on the color wheel, so they naturally work in perfect harmony together.

I love how the pops of color against our neutral shelves pull this look together.

I found my gorgeous collection of digital prints featuring the following: an orange still life, an orange tree, Van Gogh’s Almond blossoms, a William Morris wallpaper pattern and elegant ginger jar illustrations. The Matisse prints on the walls are also digital prints.

The use of vibrant oranges in the framed art prints and the tv art is also a nod to what you’ll find in our spring kitchen, where I found the most beautiful faux orange branches – stay tuned, that space will be coming soon!

COLORFUL, CHIC DESIGNER PILLOW COVERS

I’m always so very fortunate to work with Arianna Belle each season, to outfit our home with the most gorgeous designer pillows.

We’ve worked together for several seasons, you can visit my curated pillow collection to shop, or get inspired.

Aren’t these colors and patterns so beautiful and chic? I love how they all work together and with my blue lamps and ginger jars.

Notice the red and white ginger jars here, as well as the vase in our entryway in the background – an intentional use of color.

DECORATING TIP

For a cohesive look in your home, you want to pull your colors through each space with accents – with art or decor – to create continuity and thoughtfulness.

I encourage you to draw inspiration from our stunning pillows and go for some bright and bold colors in your home.

This pillow combination and the colors are just so stunning together: Hot House Spark 1 floral pillow cover | Cream Linen + Blue border pillow cover | Green Les Touches pillow cover

I chose to go with two different design patterns for our floral pillow to create some visual interest in the space.

These gorgeous pillows were the inspiration for my color palette this spring and helped to bring this spring color story to full fruition.

I just love the chic, vibrant hues and stunning patterns in our home.

Thank you for touring with me today, I hope you’re inspired by our colorful living room decor for spring. Try adding pops of color, you will love the results, I promise! It doesn’t have to be everywhere, or expensive, it can be as simple as a gorgeous pillow, a small art print, a bowl of fruit or a simple book strategically placed in your space. Our spring entryway, kitchen and dining room will all be coming soon, stay tuned! xo
