ELEGANT ENTRYWAY DECOR FOR SPRING: A CLASSIC + GORGEOUS REFRESH!

| |

Today is a great day! So much to be excited about…longer days, warmer weather, melting snow and our elegant entryway decor refresh. I am so thrilled to share with you our newest pieces that will greet guests as they enter into our home. I think you’re going to love the transformation.

Your entryway should tell your story, it should be the space in your home that sets the tone for the rest of what is to come as guests enter. Our entryway (like the rest of our home!) has certainly evolved over time. I’m absolutely in love with where it is now – it showcases our personal style and speaks volumes! A look I have been envisioning for some time.

I hope you love it as much as we do!

ELEGANT ENTRYWAY DECOR FOR SPRING

Our entryway and our home have been on an interesting journey over the years. When we built our home fourteen years ago, I decorated it with a more eclectic look and a mix of pattern and color.

I still love to mix, and I still love color and pattern, but I’d say my style has become more simplified and has grown up a little.

Over time, I’ve gravitated to using blue as the common thread throughout our home (it’s my favorite color!), with neutral furnishings in greys, beiges, warm whites, and gold and brass accents.

The first transformation this space undertook was a light and bright makeover – with a new rug and a fresh coat of paint on our console table – it elevated the look in here and in our home as well, lending a little more sophistication.

As you know, I update our decor each season to inspire you with new ideas, as I do with the rest of our home. Rotating rugs, lamps and mirrors and accessories. It’s always evolving!

That’s what makes decorating so fun…moving things, experimenting, discovering what you love!

For the next update this space underwent, we added our faux grasscloth wallpaper in this mini-makeover which completely changed everything about this space.

It’s vibrant and energetic, but still sophisticated and elegant, and brings a coastal feel to our home, which over time, I’ve been incorporating more and more throughout our home as well. Why? Because it speaks to me and makes me happy – your home should make you feel happy.

ELEVATING YOUR STYLE WITH CHIC, TIMELESS PIECES

I’d been on the hunt for years for the perfect mirror for our entryway. It needed to fill the wall and make a statement, but still have an understated elegance.

When I found this stunning gold leaf Phillippe mirror, I knew it was the one. Classic, elegant, timeless. A mirror that will be here for years to come and stand the test of time.

It is substantial in size at 35 x 47 inches, and certainly makes that statement I was looking to make.

I love the satiny sheen of the gold leaf and the classic beaded edge. The beveled mirror adds sophistication also – little details that make a very big difference in the quality of a mirror.

The rounded corners at the top are such an elegant detail also – I love this shape versus a traditional rectangle to bring in some wow factor!

The color of the gold leaf is the perfect match for our new Acacia lamps in periwinkle blue.

These are stunning lamps on their own, but I’ve been looking for the perfect pair for this room, and styled with our mirror, against our blue wallpaper, it’s a winning combination.

I think they were all made for each other!

These lamps are truly so beautiful, with their elegant, greek-inspired silhouette and gold detailing.

They’re also quite substantial in size and weight, measuring 30 inches in height, weighing 16 pounds, with a 17 inch linen shade.

The shape is so timeless and elegant and the blue is just stunning! The porcelain high-gloss finish is flawless.

They also come in white, navy and a vibrant, saturated blue. I almost went with the white but so happy I chose the periwinkle – it’s the perfect match with our wallpaper.

I styled the lower shelves with some of my favorite coral sculptures and a simple bowl filled with seashells, for that coastal chic feel that I love so much – bring on the warm temperatures!

Blue and white is always right!

I’ve made a few of these arrangements, all scattered throughout our home this spring season. They are really so beautiful and so simple to create!

FAUX ORCHID

These orchid stems are affordable and gorgeous – they look so real and are perfect for creating an elegant arrangement.

MAKE AN ORCHID ARRANGEMENT

Create a stunning arrangement in minutes!

  • Select your pot – I love to use anything blue and white
  • Use florist foam inside the pot, cut to size – make sure the height is level with the opening of the pot
  • Shape the orchids by bending the stems
  • Secure the faux orchid stems by pushing them into the foam, arranging in different heights for multiples, and making sure to leave a little bit of space for dried or faux moss
  • Tuck the moss under the stems and leaves, covering the entire opening, so no gaps or foam are visible
  • You now have a beautiful orchid arrangement!

AN ELEGANT, UNDERSTATED RUG

I love changing and rotating our rugs throughout our home, and I’ve had a few different looks grace this floor.

I’d been looking for something with a soft, muted color palette that would counterbalance all of the blues in here, and would also compliment the warm golds of our lamps, pendant light, hardware and mirror.

Enter the Torrance Edine rug, it pulls all of the colors together in here and grounds our entryway so beautifully.

It also compliments our dining room – notice the wall color in the mirror reflection.

I love the traditional and timeless pattern, and it is so soft and lush underfoot.

For those of you wondering, we use our garage as our entrance on a daily basis so dirty shoes and boots are not a regular thing in here! It all stays in the garage.

That said, I’m not one to keep from using a beautiful rug to just avoid a little dirt. When guests arrive, their shoes come off in here and it’s just fine!

Your home can still be gorgeous and get dirty, it’s ok!

  1. My color scheme is very similar-i am obsessing about a runner for my staircase and after making one bad choice I need help finding another one. The one I picked was dark blue and it is overwhelming. A sisal would be exactly the same color as the stairs. xo
