ELEGANT FALL DECORATING IN OUR LIVING ROOM
When it comes to fall decorating, I’ve become partial over the years, to using less ‘fall decor’ and relying more on color, pattern and texture to celebrate the season. Fall is finally upon us in our home, and today I’m sharing elegant fall decorating in our living room with gorgeous, rich colors – navy blue and tan, mixed with warm whites and of course touches of gold. My colors don’t change that much from season to season, but I often like to vary the tones that I use in our spaces.
I’m thrilled to join a very talented group of bloggers this week (everyone is linked down below!), all sharing our fall homes. Thank you to Marty, of A Stroll Thru Life, for always hosting these fabulous tours.
Please come and join me in our living room, to see how I used elegant fall decorating to create a sophisticated sense of the season.

ELEGANT FALL DECORATING IN OUR LIVING ROOM
If you’re joining me from Pasha, of Pasha is Home – isn’t her kitchen so fabulous?! Welcome to CitrineLiving, I’m so thrilled you’re here.
If you’ve been reading with me for a while, you’ll notice that my decor from season to season is very consistent.
I always have a plethora of solid and chinoiserie ginger jars, gold accents, and I often rotate many of the same accessories throughout our home.
This fall season is no different!
The few, but still significant seasonal updates you’ll find are new champaigne faux florals, new pillow covers, layers of natural textures like stacking baskets, and my cane hurricane lantern, gold candlesticks and a few small tan and brown touches, like agate and decorative boxes.
With those few small updates and elegant fall decorating touches, our living room feels welcoming, cozy and ready for the cooler temperatures…and they’re already here!
I have so much happening right now (don’t we all!), I needed to simplify as I often need to, and not stress about huge seasonal decor changes.
Especially with the holidays fast approaching!
I wanted my color palette to be the star of my fall decor and tell the story of the season with deep, rich tones.
Layered with beautiful pattern and texture, fall is here in our living room.

OUR LUXE & ELEGANT FALL PILLOWS
One of my seasonal decorating staples are usually new pillow covers, thanks to Arianna Belle, for always gifting me such a stunning selection. This fall season, I chose a gorgeous combination of navy blue, tan, warm white and beige tones.
I’m thrilled to share a 15% off coupon code, valid from today, September 16, 2022 – September 25, 2022 on ALL pillow covers from Arianna Belle! Use code CITRINEFALL22 at checkout. If you’re looking to invest in pillow covers, this is a great time to take advantage of this offer!
You can see all of the pillows I’ve styled in our home, and if you’d like, you can use the coupon code above on these, or any pillow cover of your choice.
I’m in love with our Navy Linen pillow covers with greek key trim, they’re so incredibly luxe in person.
Made from thick, durable heavyweight Italian linen – a high performance fabric (the fabric has a durability rating of Martindale 22,000), which means they stand up to the test of a ton of use, and they’re stain resistant…you couldn’t ask for more!
These elegant and rich Rubia Embroidery pillow covers are equally gorgeous – with a stylized floral motif embroidered in a rich tan on ivory linen, they are so stunning and this pattern is gorgeous!
I always love to add extra details like piping as well.
Finally, the Shimmer Beige and Gold pillow covers, are also a highly durable fabric, which exceeds 51,000 double rubs (Wyzenbeek Method). That means these will last a long time!
I’ve featured these beauties before, you may recognize them from our fall living room tour from two years ago.
This pillow combo is so rich, sophisticated and luxe, no doubt.
But I truly love the casual, preppy elegance they bring to our space. They make our home feel liveable and welcoming.

ELEGANT FALL DECORATING ON OUR OTTOMAN
Our ottoman houses a tray or two, to style my collectibles, I always love to use coffee table books to prop up beautiful pieces for a collected look.
Head to my Amazon Shop idea list for my favorite coffee table design books!
I found these beautiful faux champaigne flowers that are the perfect color for my elegant fall decorating this year. I love how they compliment my blue and white ginger jar (see similar), and the daintiness of the flowers adds a soft touch.
I love to layer my favorite objects – my beautiful light blue tray and gold book add an elegant touch.
For depth, and to pull my elegant fall decorating look together, I added brown tones with my agate bookend, decorative box and gold candlesticks.
All which add a chic nod to the season, simply through using color , pattern and texture.

FALL STYLED BOOKSHELVES
Keeping with my fall theme of color, pattern and texture, and also for the sake of keeping things simple, I styled our shelves with more of my favorite pieces that often get rotated in our home.
Navy touches with my ginger jars and gold and brown tones with more candlesticks and frames.
I chose to keep the bottom half of our bookshelves neutral to keep them from looking too busy or overwhelming.
I used different tones of white and ivory with just a touch of blue.
Keeping things simple makes seasonal decorating so much easier!

Very elegant and very lovely.
I have lots of blue and white; keeping only the blue and white for decorating when we downsized to our sweet zero lot line villa. BUT I have to say that your ginger jar in front of the fireplace is the LARGEST ginger jar that I have ever seen! Kudos. Love it.
Gosh your home is always perfection! It’s like a catalog where you want everything. Love it!
What can I say, as usual, your home is stunning. I always love to see how you accessorize every inch and you always surprise me with how well you switch things up for such pretty vignettes.
