CHIC LIVING ROOM DECORATING FOR SPRING: A STUNNING BLUE, WHITE AND YELLOW PALETTE
I’m SO excited that spring is finally in full swing in our home! Yes, we have another month or so to go for the season to actually start (and the snow to start melting), but I love, love, love this time of year, when all things new are on the horizon. I always love shooting our home for spring, because of the snow that’s outside – it allows for the most beautiful natural light throughout our home and on sunny days, the sunshine streams in and it makes me so happy. Speaking of sunshine, this spring I decided to add just a few hints of gorgeous, sunny yellow to my blue and white mix. I shared this in my spring inspiration post from a few weeks ago. Our spring bedroom post has layers of chic new bedding that I just adore, in case you missed it. Today, I’m sharing chic living room decorating for spring, and I truly hope you’ll enjoy it and be inspired! Please come on in and take the tour with me today.

CHIC SPRING LIVING ROOM
As you enter our living room, you’re greeted by my most recent oversized floral arrangement in sunny, chic yellows, a mix of beautiful blues and gorgeous white hydrangeas and peonies. It is a bundle of happiness and I love it!
You’ll see layers upon layers of blues abound, that adorn this space for the spring season. You know I love my blues and I can personally never get enough.
I wanted to share this above view for a minute – the transition space between our entryway, dining room and living room, with a peek down to my home office.
That gorgeous painting you see, is one my beautiful Mama painted many years ago. I hung some of her paintings in my office recently and they bring me SO much joy.
Someone told me on Instagram there is too much blue in our home and I need to be more creative, which I thought was funny! It’s not for everyone! I fill my home with what brings me joy – so should you. Use what you love and your home will always be a reflection of who you are and will bring you happiness.

I always love to layer our home with things that I love and bring me joy. From a small ceramic box someone made for me many years ago, to gorgeous ginger jars from my collection throughout the years.
I have many pieces that were my Mother’s, that she gave me over the years, many design books that I use throughout our home as part of our decor as well that I’ve also collected over time.
I love layering unique curiosities, like crystal sculptures, shells and coral. I love anything gold, I love pattern and layers of beautiful things, all curated throughout each space. It’s about telling your own story.
You might remember last year, I also layered chic, vibrant color in our spring living room. For me, chic living room decorating for spring is about a return to a bright, happy look in this space and throughout our home.
You know I love my block print motifs and also the use of statement florals – these are two key components you’ll find in our spring living room.

I always use coral sculptures and anything that lends itself to a coastal chic look especially for spring and summer – have you ever read my post all about coastal chic decorating?
If you love our home, you’ll love this post and all of the tips and styling tricks that I share.
You can see a peek into our spring entryway here, where more blue and white coastal styling takes center stage.
I was recently given a collection of the most stunning blue and white oversized vases that my daughter’s boyfriend’s grandmother was giving away – they are so gorgeous, you can see a glimpse of one of them in our entryway. I’m so lucky to have these beautiful new pieces in my collection!
You may also remember that I’ve wanted a pair of blue and white lamps for a very long time. These beauties on our buffet, both from HomeSense, made a debut in our fall entryway and are now here in our living room.
BOOKSHELVES STYLED FOR SPRING
We recently built our own frame around our TV to finally give it a more finished look. My hubby is handy and built it very easily out of door casing molding. Our digital TV art is gorgeous for spring and really pops!
I shared our newly wallpapered bookshelves last fall in our fall living room and the more I live with this gorgeous peel and stick wallpaper in here, the more I love it.
DECORATING TIP
Add stunning peel and stick wallpaper to your shelves for a gorgeous pop of color that you can remove anytime. It takes a little time and patience to install but is pretty easy and you get instant visual impact.
The color is so rich and elegant, it adds depth to our space and everything I style on these shelves looks truly incredible against this gorgeous blue backdrop.
What do you think of this gorgeous pop of yellow in here? This isn’t the first time I’ve shared yellow and blue for spring – you can see it in my spring home tour from many years ago, long before several of our home decor updates.
All you need is the smallest touch of a vibrant color to change your look for the season. Balance it visually around the room by using it in other areas. Books, florals, pillows and vases are perfect for this.
I kept the yellow to a minimum with just these simple ginger jars and my floral arrangement. The gold accents throughout our space and home also pick up on the yellow as well.
Many of the pieces on our bookshelves are staples that either stay put on the higher shelves, or get moved around. I have favorite, sentimental pieces – ginger jars, candleholders and bookends as well as some new ones – these beautiful shell inlay boxes are the perfect addition to our shelves.
You can see more of our new gorgeous vases that were recently given to me in this image above – they are so fabulous and so chic!
CHIC LIVING ROOM DETAILS UP CLOSE
Here’s a closeup look at my spring floral arrangement. Many of you have seen this oversized pedestal bowl on repeat in our home. It’s a definite splurge, but well worth it – for the size alone, it’s quite substantial, but also for the visual impact it lends to any space I use it in.
It makes a truly bold, unique statement and the possibilities are endless. I used these stunning florals to create this look: Yellow hydrangeas | Blue hydrangeas | Navy peonies | Light Blue hydrangeas | White peony bush | White hydrangeas.
My love for block print motifs will never cease and I just love this fresh, chic, vibrant combination for spring. This blue block print pillow is from our Christmas living room and it’s just stunning paired with this beautiful white block print pillow. More bright, happy color!
Our ottoman is styled with many of my usual pieces – our white trays and design book staples that I read over and over to get new, fresh ideas. This geometric knot sculpture is a new piece and sits beautifully juxtaposed against my hand-painted ceramic box (a gift from many years ago).
A coral sculpture and crystal sculpture are beautiful layers to this vignette.
DECORATING TIP
Use your favorite coffee table books integrated into your decor – they are the perfect ground to hold items you love. Here are some of my favorite books that I always read: Beautiful | More Beautiful | Forever Beautiful | Coastal Blues | Style Comfort Home
CHIC LIVING ROOM STYLING
The most important detail of all in our chic living room decorated for spring, is that it simply makes ua so happy. Our home is mostly neutral, but having gorgeous color accented everywhere throughout makes a chic statement and tells our story.
Don’t be afraid of color! You can start small with a pillow or blanket or florals. The more you experiment, the more confidence you’ll gain with decorating and the more you will love it.
