OUR ELEGANT, SIMPLE + CHIC FALL LIVING ROOM

This season, our living room is infused with simple, chic fall decor that speaks volumes through pattern, color and texture, as I mentioned above.

You’ll find many of the same pieces used over and over throughout our home, season to season, as I like to keep things simple, but I also truly only believe in decorating with pieces that you truly love and that have meaning.

For that reason, when it comes to decorating seasonally in our living room, I focus on just a few key areas – and those are even kept simple – new pillow covers for a fresh look, a few accessories that speak to the feel of the season, a beautiful floral arrangement.

As you enter our living room, our console table is styled with my newest, favorite blue lamps, a pair of my favorite gold hurricane lanterns, my gorgeous oversized ginger jar filled with a full, lush arrangement of faux navy hydrangeas and peonies that makes a beautiful and elegant statement in our home.

I used this same styling formula in our summer living room a few months ago as well. I loved it so much, I put it on repeat – keeping things simple!

There are two other new things in here – did you spot them?? First, we installed stunning new drapes – but you’ll have to wait for more on those!

Second, our ottoman was in need of a refresh, so it got recovered (again) in a gorgeous new fabric, a traditional navy and ivory vintage ticking stripe. I love the classic look!

We also used the same fabric to recover our kitchen barstools, which you’ll see when I reveal our kitchen update (coming soon I hope!)

So here is where things really stay simple. I reuse, restyle, repeat, rotate all of these items on our bookshelves…you get the point…with a few seasonal nods thrown in.

These are big bookshelves, both physically and visually, so the styling stays simple to keep it clean, and to keep my life simple too. But always chic!

I’ll say it again – I use the things I love most, that have meaning to me, and that lean in toward my look for the season.

There is no need to reinvent things season after season (unless you choose too of course!). If it works and you love it, stick with it.

Back to the bookshelves. I always try to create a sense of symmetry here as much as I can, while using slightly different pieces on each side. The idea is to achieve visual balance for a clean look.

I always love to layer my gold candleholders, there’s a warm vintage feel they add to our home for the fall and winter seasons. They work anywhere I use them and are always styled somewhere!

When I style our bookshelves with all of my favorite pieces that I’ve collected over the years, I always try to achieve an elegant and chic look, to keep things from looking too busy. Simple and classic decor always works.

When I shared a video of our living room on Instagram – so many people asked me, ‘Why are there so many pillows’ and ‘How do you even sit in here’?!

My plethora of pillows clearly caused quite a stir haha. It’s really not complicated – when we sit in here at night, they go on the floor, when we entertain, some move to another room. Easy Peasy.

Aside from my clear obsession with fabulous pillows, I like to showcase them to inspire those who choose to be inspired – I want to show you how to mix different styles and patterns together to get a gorgeous, unique look in your home.

This beautiful embroidered stunner in the center of my pillow arrangement is from last year’s fall living room. I love it so much, I needed to use it again.

It’s not pictured here (you can see it if you scroll further up), I used one of my favorite buffalo check throws on the back of our sofa for a luxe, warm fall layer.

Ralph Lauren has always been one of my biggest inspirations (he was always my Mama’s favorite too), and I took some cues from his iconic style and tried to channel it in our fall living room.

Gorgeous blue and white pieces (always a staple around here), statement making florals, gold hurricane lanterns, stripes, checks and stunning patterns layered together to create a signature look.

Chic fall decor infused through color, pattern and texture, that’s classic and elegant was the goal in our living room, and throughout our home.
