BEAUTIFUL LIVING ROOM SPRING DECOR IN BLUE AND WHITE
Welcome to my first official spring decorating post this year! I’ve been a little quiet on the blog the last few weeks, but I’m so happy to be back sharing my living room spring decor with you!
Blue and white chinoiserie is what you’ll find, as usual, and if you remember my spring inspiration post, I shared a peek at some of the pieces I’m using this season.
I’m joining an amazing group of bloggers this week for our Spring Home Tour 2022, hosted by Marty, of A Stroll Thru Life – I’m always so grateful to be a part of these tours! You’ll find everyone in the tour linked at the bottom of this post, please be sure to head over and visit them all for incredible spring decorating inspiration!

BEAUTIFUL LIVING ROOM SPRING DECOR
If you’re visiting today from Rachel of This Is Our Bliss, welcome to CitrineLiving and welcome to our spring living room! I’m thrilled you’re here, and I hope you love what you see today.
If you’ve been around for a while, then you know that blue and white has become a reoccurring color palette throughout our home over the years.
You also might notice a sneak peek of our hallway makeover in the image above – we’re almost at the finish line with that project and I can’t wait to share the reveal soon!
Does anything else look different in here to you? I bought these simple and elegant chandelier lamp shades from Amazon (I make a small commission on Amazon purchases) to dress up our light fixtures and give them a more classic, timeless look.
I love the new look so much! I recently added similar ones to my home office chandelier as well – you can tour the full room reveal if you haven’t seen it yet.

SPRING BOOKSHELVES: GINGER JARS AND PRETTY THINGS
When it comes to styling our bookshelves, you’ll typically find my favorite pieces that are my go-to accessories.
Here is what I use to decorate our bookshelves:
- Ginger jars, both solid and patterned
- Coral sculptures
- Agate bookends
- Decorative boxes
- Bowls in various sizes
- Small planters/containers
- Books in different sizes
- Pretty objects to help create visual interest
- Art, either styled on these shelves or hanging on the walls
I wanted a collected, monochromatic look on our bookshelves this spring, so I used some of those favorite accessories listed above, and added some gorgeous new pieces as well.
My latest addition to my ginger jar collection are two sets of these gorgeous blue ginger jars from Lo Home in serenity blue…I always love to use Lauren’s gorgeous ginger jars!
This newest color from her collection makes my heart skip a beat!
I also decided it was time to update the artwork flanking our bookshelves, and I found these gorgeous modern digital prints (I especially love the Matisse print on the bottom right) from Etsy – affordable, gorgeous and we have a new look in minutes.
I always use books to style vignettes throughout our home, and I wanted my books to also play up the monochromatic look I was after.
Some of these books are from House of Elements and others I covered myself in coordinating blue printed paper in varying hues – such a simple DIY!

THE PRETTIEST SPRING PILLOWS IN BLUE AND WHITE
Many of you know by now how much I covet gorgeous pillows and I always love to partner each season with Arianna Belle, who has the most jaw-dropping collection!
I wanted to pair soft, pretty florals with contrasting stripes along with my existing animal print pillows from my Christmas living room.
SHOP MY PILLOWS HERE: Daniela Floral pillow covers | Grace Stripe pillow covers | Les Touches pillow covers
I just love how they complement my blue and white ginger jar collection styled behind them, aren’t they so beautiful together?
Changing out your pillows is always a simple way to create living room spring decor that makes a beautiful statement.

FAUX FLORALS AND GORGEOUS PLANTERS
This spring season, I ordered five bunches of these faux hydrangeas in the softest light blue and just love the color so much.
I arranged one bunch (made up of twelve stems) with my stunning Sanibel planter from Cailini Coastal, one of my favorite shops ever!
I use faux florals almost every season and have been for years. I love real flowers of course, but faux are always so easy no matter what.
It’s a small initial investment, but it’s so worth it for gorgeous arrangements that last forever.
I made this faux orchid arrangement with two of these faux orchids stems and just can’t believe how real and beautiful they look.
This was my first attempt at a DIY faux orchid arrangement. I think it turned out ok… looking at my photos, I pushed the stems down too far into the pot and should have let the flowers cascade down more, but that’s an easy fix!
Here are the materials I used to create my DIY Spring decor faux orchid arrangement:
- Blue and white planter (shop similar to mine)
- Floral oasis
- Two faux orchid stems
- Faux floral moss

A LAST LOOK AT OUR LIVING ROOM SPRING DECOR
Here are a few more images of our living room spring decor in blue and white. You can even see a peek into our spring entryway, also coming to the blog soon.
Notice the pagoda mirror in the background over there? I’m still deciding if I’m keeping it there. I stole it from my office to see if I need a second one!
Blue and white is always my favorite color palette, and of course adding ginger jars, faux florals in beautiful containers, paired with beautiful throw pillows are always my go-to decorating pieces.
That’s a wrap on my living room spring decor this season, I hope you’ve found some inspiring styling ideas for your home this spring. Thank you, as always for visiting me! Next on today’s tour is Doreen, from Hymns and Verses, you will absolutely love her spring decor, she has such gorgeous style. Hi Brooke! Thank you so much for your kind words, I’m so happy to have you here! This is Collingwood by BM. Here is a link to my blog post with all of our colors: https://citrineliving.com/the-paint-colors-throughout-our-home/
I hope this helps! Congratulations on your new home! xo
Hi, I’m in love with your living room and all your blue and white! The wall color is light and airy! What color is the wall paint? I’m building a new house and would love to use it!
Thank you!
This is Collingwood by BM!
What is your wall color and the brand? I NEED THIS COLOR
Hi Dianne! So sorry you feel that way! There’s no rush to decorate for spring – go at your own pace! My posts are here to inspire you, for any time that you are ready. I totally get not being ready for the work that comes with warm temps too… Our winters are sooooo long, I personally cant wait for green outside and the first day of spring. And my job as a blogger is to create content in advance of the season :) There is no pressure for you t decorate now, but maybe you can collect some styling ideas if you’re up to it. And if not, sit back, relax snd enjoy your winter reading! xo
LOVE your home and everything you do but please slow down with the Spring decorating. Many bloggers are pushing the season and not allowing us to live in the moment. It gets one a bit anxious. I know winter isn’t the most beautiful season but it does have its own beauty and I for one love it. I’m not at all looking forward to the extra work that comes with Spring and Summer, by that I mean the yard work, gardening, porch and patio upkeep etc. I love being warm and cozy inside with a good book , a candle and a cup of a warm beverage. Please Bloggers, give us some winter suggestions because I don’t want Spring decor in February! No thanks!
Hi! Yes! This is Benjamin Moore Collingwood!
Hello. Good day. May I ask the colour of your walls?
Hi! Thanks for your kind words and for reading with me. Our ceiling is 11 feet…hope this helps!xo
Hi there! Your home is absolutely stunning. I was just curious what the height of your living room built ins? I’m afraid our ceilings may be too high to do them. Thanks bunches!!!
Would you mind sharing which brand/color you used on the walls in your living room? I have been searching high and low for the perfect color and I love yours!
What is the color of the paint you used on your walls?😍

What a lovely calm and serene space you’ve created! I love how you styled your bookcases with all of those beautiful ginger jars too. The new prints look perfect, it was a great idea to get them from Etsy, I like to get mine there too!
Hi Tamara! Your blue and white palette is simply refreshing and inviting! You have a beautiful home!
Hi, Tamara, your home is absolutely gorgeous! You are the queen of blue & white and I adore how you do it so effortlessly. From the pillows, to your beautiful rug and blue and white pottery, it’s all so beautiful. I always love stopping by your home tours.
Tam–it’s all so gorgeous! I really love the blue floral pillows and the lighter blue jars. You have outdone yourself–it’s stunning! XO, Amy
Your spring living room is lovely, Tamara… Blue and white is just so soothing and serene, and you create the effect so well! The use of ginger jars is so pretty, too. Of course, they are making a comeback from the 80s, which makes me smile. So glad to be joining in on this tour with you. Hope you’ll stop by tomorrow at My Wee Abode for my updated living space. :-)
I love your spring tour and all that blue and white is amazing! I wish my family would let me have a ton of pillows on my sofa. If I add more than 2 they end up on the floor (insert rolling eyes). And I don’t think you pushed your hydrangeas too far down inside that magnificent jar. It’s perfect. Thanks for all the inspiration today. I need to get out of my pajamas now and do some shopping. :) Glad to have hopped with you this week. Your home is one of my favorites in all of blog land.
Your house is a stunning show house! I love the peaceful and cohesive feel of it all.
