FALL KITCHEN DECORATING IDEAS: 1. USE A STATEMENT RUG!
The very first thing you’ll notice in our fall kitchen this year, is our new custom rug. Meet Citrine – our gorgeous new custom oushak rug from Palindrome Home!
This piece was so fun to work on together and customize!
We discussed the design, the colors and the look I was after, we sent ideas back and forth, and we came up with this custom beauty, Citrine.
For a limited time you can get 15% off of any rug from Palindrome Home! Use code CitrineLiving15 at checkout.
I love the elegance of this rug, and oushak rugs in general. They add such an elevated look to any space.
They’re made from wool and hand knotted, which makes them so durable and they feel luxurious underfoot.
You can see our gorgeous oushak runner in our hallway makeover, it completely transformed our space!

FALL KITCHEN DECORATING IDEAS: 2. INCORPORATE VINTAGE-INSPIRED ART + RUSTIC TOUCHES
I decided to hop on the ‘framed vintage art in the kitchen trend’ – although years ago, I had some gorgeous art displayed in here!
I just love the layer of warmth and elegance it adds to our fall kitchen.
I found this beautiful digital art print on Etsy, it’s the perfect fit in here.
Digital art is such an inexpensive way to buy art for your home, especially if you like to change it often.
I decided to play off of the art with my own still life on our stove, using pears and figs styled in my footed bowl, for a rustic natural touch.
Such a pretty look, don’t you think?
Display baked goods, fresh fruit and natural elements like wood cutting boards and spoons to bring an earthy, nostalgic touch to your fall kitchen.

FALL KITCHEN DECORATING IDEAS: 3. USE DEEP, RICH COLORS FOR FLORALS AND ACCENTS
I wanted make a strong color statement in our kitchen this fall.
Yes, blue and gold are always present in our home, but I wanted a rich and sophisticated color palette to set the tone.
Here on our island, I created this beautiful faux arrangement using light blue and navy blue florals, and navy blue arrangements flanking our stove.

The mix of light and dark tones is just gorgeous and very rich looking.
My french blue ginger jars pull the look together and also echo the blues in our rug.
I’m thrilled with how warm and inviting this is!
FALL KITCHEN DECORATING IDEAS: 4. ADD LUXE TOUCHES OF GOLD
Gold is a prominent metal all throughout our home, I’ve layered it in over the years with our lighting, hardware, pulls, door knobs, you name it.
I also love to use gold accessories as well, to elevate our home.
I layered just a couple of simple touches like our new brass salt mill and pepper mill and gold candleholders and picture frame.

Hi Sally,
Thank you so much for your very kind words, I truly appreciate it so much! I don’t have a mat, we use carpet tape to keep it in place! Super easy. I’m so happy you like the rug and our fall kitchen! Thank you again for reading with me! xo
Your new rug is beautiful. I love your kitchen styling for Fall – it’s so elegant. I have a question- do you have some kind of rug mat under the new rug to keep it from sliding? Thank you for these wonderful posts. I always look forward to them.
