SUMMER KITCHEN DECOR IN BLUE AND GREEEN

Summer always has me gravitating toward fresh blues and greens, and in a mostly neutral kitchen, these colors bring the perfect layer to our space. Blue and green continues to be my favorite summer color combination – it feel timeless, sophisticated, and inspired by nature.

Incorporating color and texture through lush hydrangeas, a collection of different ginger jars and a simple bowl of apples, these items instantly bring life and freshness into our summer kitchen, helping to extend the color palette and create a cohesive look from one end of the kitchen to the other.

By keeping the decor simple and focusing on a few, key beautiful pieces, our kitchen feels bright, elegant, and ready for all the casual gatherings and everyday moments that summer brings. These simple touches don’t require much effort, but they make the entire space feel intentional and beautifully layered.

KEEPING IT LIGHT AND UNCLUTTERED

One thing I always try to keep in mind when decorating our summer kitchen is using a little restraint with seasonal accessories – I always want to achieve a light, breezy, feel in our space that creates a bright and airy look.

Often the most elegant spaces are the ones that allow a few beautiful strategically chosen pieces to shine. You’ll also often find some decor staples that live here from season to season as well, simply because I love them or they’re very special to me.

I chose to focus on just a few accents that complement the style of our kitchen while adding color, pattern, and texture. The oversized hydrangea arrangement serves as the focal point, styled on layered trays alongside a piece of coral, beautiful dishware, and cutlery.

Additional ginger jars and blue and green accents throughout add just the right amount of color and interest without overwhelming the room. The result is a kitchen that feels fresh, welcoming, and perfectly suited for the season.

AN OVERSIZED ARRANGEMENT ALWAYS MAKES A STATEMENT

The focal point of the kitchen this summer is undoubtedly the large arrangement of blue and green snowball hydrangeas on the island. Arranged our beautiful green and white ginger jar, these blooms bring so much incredible texture, softness, and beautiful color to our summer kitchen.

I always love using oversized floral arrangements to make a bold statement because they instantly make a room feel polished and elevated. Even though it lives on our island, I also love how it looks over here by our sink – it brings such a lush and vibrant pop of color and texture to this area of our kitchen.

Hydrangeas are especially beautiful for summer because they feel lush and abundant without being overly formal. They truly are the quintessential summer flower! Their soft blue and green hues are the perfect complement to our kitchen’s classic feel.

This stunning arrangement fills the island beautifully while still feeling effortless and relaxed – exactly the feeling I want our home to have during the summer months. Paired with a few pieces to create this grouping, the look is elegant, collected and so very chic!

CHIC NEW LIGHT BLUE ROMAN SHADES

Our new light blue roman shades add a subtle touch of beautiful color in our summer kitchen, while keeping the entire space feeling light and airy. Combined with the white and ivory cabinetry and warm gold accents, they create the perfect backdrop for layering in seasonal decor. The trim detailing in beige adds beautiful contrast and the pattern echoes the trellis in our cabinetry as well.

You’ll find the same light blue fabric in our dining room drapes, our bedroom drapes and soon, I’ll be sharing our summer living room that will also feature this gorgeous light blue fabric for our window treatments.

These gorgeous roman shades coordinate perfectly in our kitchen and the light blue looks beautiful against all the white. The blue and green color palette feels so fresh and classic at the same time, which is exactly the look I wanted to achieve throughout our home this summer.

DECORATING OUR SUMMER KITCHEN WITH GINGER JARS

If you’ve followed along with me for a while, you already know I have a passion for ginger jars. They’re one of those timeless accessories that work in every season and in every room. I’ve collected them for many years now and I absolutely love them in any size, shape, color, or pattern.

On our island you’ll find our solid green ginger jar alongside our green and white jar which holds the floral arrangement, to add another layer of color. The glossy finish catches the light and helps carry the green hues throughout our summer kitchen.

Mixing different sizes, shapes, and finishes of ginger jars throughout our kitchen creates interest without adding too much clutter.

Symmetry is one of my favorite decorating techniques and something I use throughout our home. It instantly creates balance and visual order while making a space feel calm and cohesive. You’ll notice it by our sink as well as around our stove, where paired accessories help frame each area beautifully.

That wraps up our summer kitchen tour today – thank you as always for reading with me – I hope you’ve enjoyed this look around our summer kitchen and found a little inspiration for adding fresh blue and green touches to your own home this season. xo
