I have always had a love for globally influenced home decor, it’s no secret that my passion for anything chinoiserie runs deep! There are so many different types of global looks available, influenced by so many different cultures, that have the most exquisite design roots to draw upon. From furniture, tiles, textiles and so much more. I love anything with interesting shapes and patterns and infusing them into our home is so important to me – it gives where we live and spend most of our time a more personal look and feel, and it tells a story. I have a passion for curating pieces that I love, that bring beauty into our home and create a gorgeous statement. Today, I’m sharing some of my favorite finds from beautiful block prints, to a chic, exotic side table and rattan bar cart – some of which you may have seen here before – but they’re so good, I had to share them again. As you probably already know, I always love using blues throughout our home – it is the perfect color to coordinate with virtually any other color imaginable…just like your favorite pair of blue jeans.
Blue and green are a particular favorite color duo of mine, they’re just naturally so beautiful together – think foliage, sea and sky!
Today, as shown above, I’m sharing some favorite finds with this color pairing in mind. I plan to share more in other color palettes soon, so stay tuned.
WHAT IS BLOCK PRINT?
Block printing, also known as woodblock printing, is a centuries old craft for printing on paper or textiles, and is one of the oldest forms of printing. It dates back to 3rd century China and became popular in India around the 16th century when it was conquered by the Mughal Dynasty. Beautifully carved designs on wooden blocks are used to transfer the patterns with ink to the chosen medium.
