A LOOK BACK AT OUR FAVORITE BLOG POSTS OF 2018

|

Happy New Year! It’s 2019 and feels so good to be starting fresh with a brand new year! I can’t believe I’ve taken almost two weeks off from the blog and cut back with my regular posting on Instagram too. This past holiday season has been such a whirlwind, celebrating almost daily with friends and family and even though it was very hectic, it was so nice to enjoy regular life without having to think about work for a change. I hope you all had a chance to rest and recharge as well. Usually, my tree and decor is all packed up by now, but it’s still up – and I have some very exciting news as to why! Better Homes and Gardens magazine is coming to shoot our home next week! I’ve been asked to share my Christmas decor for their next Christmas issue, and I could not be more thrilled! I’ll be working hard this weekend decorating for Christmas again haha – I’m adding a few things just to mix it up and refresh it a little bit, so when the issue hits newsstands next fall, it will be a little different than what you saw this holiday…I am soooo excited! Since our home is exactly how you saw it last, and I haven’t been working on any new projects yet, I am sharing my annual roundup of the past year’s favorite blog posts. I always love to take a look back and see the progress our home has made – and this year we have made some amazing progress! What a year it was – it all started with our 2 day, $300 entryway makeover last winter, and ended with our fabulous and dramatic dining room reveal. I couldn’t be more thrilled, or more thankful for having the opportunity to bring all of this newness to our home, and to share it with all of you. More importantly, I am so grateful to all of you! Your support, kind words and encouragement have made CitrineLiving what it is today, and I thank you all for that! I’ll be keeping the rest of my words short and sweet – enjoy the roundup and wishing you all the very best in 2019! xoxo

PANTRY MAKEOVER ON A BUDGET

You guys – this was such a fun and quick makeover – I pulled it off in a couple of days and for less than $300, with everything from the dollar store. It may not be perfectly coordinated, but it functions perfectly – and the best part – one year later, it looks exactly the same and is so easy to maintain. Click here to read the post!

LIGHT BRIGHT ENTRYWAY REVEAL

This was the makeover that started it all – on a whim, I decided to paint our console table with chalk paint, and I got super lucky with a steal of new rug from HomeSense! This was such a fast turnaround and we had a brand new entryway in 2 days for next to nothing. Click here to read the post!

OUR KID’S BATHROOM UPDATE WITH A NEW WHITE VANITY

This bathroom makeover started with new faux grasscloth wallpaper, installed by yours truly, new lighting and a new shower curtain which completely changed the look! A few months later, we updated the vanity and toilet to bring in more newness, and now, this coastal chic vibe is a fan favorite. Click here to read the post!

SPRING HOME TOUR

This was my last full home tour – since this post, I’ve been sharing my seasonal rooms in individual posts instead. It makes it a little easier for me, and I like to spread it out a little for you! Vibrant hues were bright and fresh and we loved the feeling in here last year. Can’t wait to bring on Spring this year! Click here to read the post!

A BOHO BEDROOM MAKEOVER

This stunner is not in our home, but it’s a complete overhaul in a friend’s master bedroom who was in search of a new beginning. One of my favorite rooms ever. Click here to read the post!

OUTDOOR SUMMER TABLESCAPE

Who’s ready to pull out the patio furniture? We’re knee-deep in snow for a few more months, so for now, I’ll have to look back and dream. I love to entertain in this outdoor ‘living room’ of ours and I always love to bring the indoors out when I’m doing it. Click here to read the post!

OUR GREY PAINT DILEMMA!

Oh boy, this one was controversial!! On the blog and Instagram too – so many of you wanted us to keep the black walls! In the end, we went with the light grey and couldn’t be happier with the results. Click here to read it!

OUR KITCHEN REVEAL!

New lighting, a new rug and new barstools helped to totally transform the look of this space. Our kitchen has been slowly transformed over the years (an earlier brass hardware update was a total game changer too – read it here) with small updates here and there to help bring it to where it is today. Click here to read it!

OUR LIVING ROOM REVEAL!

For those of you who’ve been reading with me for a long time, you know that white sofas were on my wish list for quite a while! They totally changed the look and feel of our living room for something brighter, lighter and airier. Click here to read it!

OUR DINING ROOM REVEAL!

Last but most definitely not least, our latest makeover packs the biggest punch in our home. With all the worry over missing the black walls, and making a mistake if we painted them, it was the best decision we could have gone with – it opened this room up completely, and adding the upper moldings brings in an element  of traditional elegance and sophistication.  Click here to read it!

I hope you enjoyed this roundup of reader favorites, and I hope you enjoyed following along with me last year – it’s so exciting to be starting a whole new year again and I’m thrilled to have you here with me – here’s to you, and wishing you all the very best 2019! Happy New Year! xo
