SPRING HOME TOUR WITH VIBRANT YELLOWS AND PRETTY BLUES
It’s finally Spring and it feels so good having longer days doesn’t it? I love the coziness of Fall and Winter, but nothing beats the fresh, crisp air of Spring. There’s nothing quite like the easy feeling of the warmer months, and because Spring symbolizes newness and growth, it’s always such a meaningful time of year. I love to bring a fresh feeling into our home with my Spring decorating, and although our home has a very casual style, it’s nice to reinforce that feeling with more laid back styling around our home. I’m so happy to be joining up with a fantastic group of very talented bloggers, as we all open our homes to showcase our Spring decor for the Spring has Sprung Blog Tour. This is a rather long post today, I haven’t done a big tour since the Fall, and well, today is a big one. Lots of images to share with you, so please bare with me! SPRING HOME TOUR WITH VIBRANT YELLOWS AND PRETTY BLUES
THE ENTRYWAY
We’re starting in our newly made over entryway today, and if you’re new then you haven’t seen the transformation! You may want to check out the before (right here), to get a glimpse of how different it feels. 
If you have seen this newly refreshed space, then you’ll notice the decor hasn’t really changed. I simply added a blue and white ginger jar filled with some fresh hydrangeas. 
I think they are some of my absolute favorite flowers, and I can’t wait until the snow melts (yep – still tons of it here), and the trees and flowers bloom outside. We still have a couple of months until that happens here.
For now, I’ll live vicariously through the inside of our home, wishing it was as warm outside ;) 
THE DINING ROOM
In our dining room, which is off of the entryway, I kept it simple with a few faux and dried florals alongside my blue and white ginger jar and vases.
I always use blues throughout the year in our home, it’s become a staple in my decor over the past few years and because it is neutral and goes with anything, it really is such an easy color to work with.
I really love faux florals and have no issues with using them all year long! I have my faux hydrangeas, apple blossoms and dried baby’s breath to brighten up this space. The front of our home is south facing and I love the sunny bright afternoons in here.
THE LIVING ROOM
First, I want to talk about my throw pillows from Tonic Living. I have been collecting pillows from them for over a year now, and I can tell you, they are my go-to resource each season. You’ll notice that I have had the same ones through the year and simply add or subtract different ones into the mix each season.
I am absolutey loving the vibrant palette I’ve chosen this Spring – it reinforces that happy, warm feeling I’m going for. I picked up on the yellow pillow with some simple and elegant yellow tulips and roses, as will as some yellow hardcover design books on the open shelves. I just love the yellow and blue combination and the roses are so pretty in my ginger jar.
I’ll admit that I cheated – I had to use two different bunches since I shot our home on two separate days…I bought new ones for the second day, since it was the following week. As much as I adore having the fresh florals, it pains me when they die – the just don’t last long enough!
THE KITCHEN
The last space I’m sharing today is the kitchen, and in here I decided to bring a garden feel, with loads of vases and florals – mostly faux with a sprinkling of fresh.
Our kitchen has a casual elegance to it, it’s simple and I love to layer in dishes and cake stands for both display and functionality purposes.
I usually have the same items on this built-in shelf, and I will rotate a few things here and there. It’s a fun addition that we added a couple of years ago and it’s a great spot to showcase my favorite pieces. Right now I have a lot of them here!
I love to keep bowlfuls handy of tomatoes (a favorite snack of mine), onions and garlic for cooking. My apothecary canister jars have stood here for years as well. It feels a little like I brought the garden inside, and I am loving it!
Lemons and limes are often a go-to decor item for me, and I always use them during Spring and Summer. I just love the freshness they bring to the kitchen. I always have a big bunch in a bowl, or glass jar. Of course, I love them with my blues too! You can see how I used them last year on this casual tablescape, here and in my Spring Home Tour, here.
If I never used my sink, I’d have a bunch of flowers hanging over the edge year round! I love the look and the feeling they bring into the kitchen…who doesn’t love the quintessential flowers in the sink shot?! Can you tell which ones are faux and which ones are real? 
My collection of covered cake stands have found a somewhat permanent spot here on the island. I love to keep dishes in them, and decorative objects as well. Last Christmas, I filled them with ornaments and ran them down the center with candles. They added a beautiful sparkle to this space that was so pretty, especially lit up at night. It’s a great look for a centrepiece when you’re entertaining too. You can see how I achieved that look here.
