SIMPLE, CHIC SUMMER LIVING ROOM IN CLASSIC BLUE & WHITE
Welcome to our summer living room! I’m thrilled to finally be sharing this space with you – I’m a little behind this summer, but we’re finally here and I just love this return to a classic blue and white palette. I kept everything in this space simple (for me, that is!) and chic of course! I decided to use a trio of existing blue and white pillow covers that I’ve featured in season’s past. I’ve also styled my florals throughout our home using the same colors, with the addition of soft greens. I’ve created four oversized, lush arrangements this summer season, all sprinkled throughout our home. Consistency is always key to a cohesive look! I’ve threaded our florals and colors throughout to achieve that look.

SUMMER LIVING ROOM IN BLUE + WHITE
There is just something so special about a blue and white color palette, don’t you think? It’s classic, it has a sense of nostalgia, it’s always timeless, no matter where you use it, it’s crisp and clean and calming.
Our home has evolved over the years, as our taste and style has changed and although it’s mostly neutral now, I always have my blue and white threaded throughout almost every space in our home.
You’ll find blue and white everywhere – from trim detailing on curtains, rugs, wallpaper, art, fabric, ginger jars, books, coral scupltures, accessories, dishes, and so much more.

CHIC + OVERSIZED SUMMER FLORALS
My oversized floral arrangement that I created here is a showstopper! I always love to use my arrangements to make a big statement.
I love the soft blue and white color palette with a touch of soft green, along with the mix of different florals – it all works together in harmony.
When I build an arrangement, I’ll usually work on it until I’ve achieved my desired look with the fullness that I want, as well as visual balance through color and with the type of flower.
DECORATING TIP
With an open concept home, using a common item or theme throughout, is a strategic way to keep your look cohesive – use color, pattern or florals like I have here.
I’ve used my floral arrangements in each space throughout our home, to tie my summer look together. I also have an arrangement on our kitchen island as well.
CREATE A LUSH, FULL ARRANGEMENT
Below is an approximate number of faux stems that I used in this arrangement.
- I started with two large peony bushes on each side of the arrangement
- Then I used about twelve light blue hydrangeas
- Afterward, I added about another twelve or so white hydrangeas and cream hydrangeas combined
- I then used three or four of these light green hydrangeas
- Plus these green hydrangeas sprinkled throughout
- Finally, I added eight of these gorgeous blue/green hydrangeas
LIVING ROOM SHELVES STYLED FOR SUMMER
I kept mostly everything styled the same way on our bookshelves, as I did in our spring living room. Everything is rather neutral with a few pops of blue and white.
The only change I made here, was replacing the layered gold frames that were here with my gorgeous, oversized banana leaf ginger jars. Simple, chic, elegant and I love it.
DECORATING TIP
I added this stunning Hydrangea tv art you see here on our tv in photoshop, but you can easily download it after purchasing and then use it for your television – it’s a gorgeous and inexpensive way to add a seasonal touch to your space!

I wanted a clean, crisp look for our pillows this summer, so I decided to pull this look together from my existing collection that I’ve used from Arianna Belle.

I love the mix of pattern and how they play off of the coastal accents on our ottoman. I always love to use coral sculptures and shells throughout our home, especially for summer.
As I mentioned earlier, I’ve used pillow covers from previous seasons to create this year’s look. I combined my covers from our spring living room from 2023, our spring living room from 2021 and our summer living room from 2022.
