FALL HOME TOUR 2015

FALL HOME TOUR - CITRINELIVING

Welcome to my Fall home tour! I’m so happy you’re here to join me! When I decorate for fall, I keep most of my accessories simple and the decor is mostly in the main areas of our home. A few mercury glass pumpkins and gourds around the house, in golds and silvers along with neutral seasonal accessories so they blend with our home. I love textures too and I always find it’s a great way to add layers for the season. Last year I was searching for white pumpkins for the front porch, which I’m so happy to say, I found this year! I haven’t gotten big ones yet, but as soon as they’re in, I’ll pick some up to add to these.

I took many of these shots on different days, so there’s a lot of variation in the lighting and even some accessories have a habit of moving around the house too! I am constantly changing things, sometimes several times a day. It’s so fun to experiment and see how everything works in different spaces. I hope you like what you see, leave me a comment or send me an email to let me know!

I bought mums this year for the first time – I’ve never really loved them (shhh!) but I do love the color of these ones.

You can really see that gorgeous red color of the mums from here.

Come on inside and make yourself at home!

Our dining room is immediately on the left as you enter and I always love to change up what’s happening in this space. My wreath was red last year and I sprayed it gold – it needs another coat but I like this rose gold color that’s happening right now.

I love opening the door to let in the crisp, fresh smelling air and sunshine, it’s such a great feeling on a warm fall day.

I like to keep it neutral in here for Fall. Lots of white and cream with wooden accents and silver and gold of course!

Silver trays are perfect for decorating and showcasing those special pieces you want to elevate with sophistication.

I’m clearly a lover of symmetry – I use it often when I display items that I have in pairs. You can never go wrong with a symmetrical display, if you’re ever unsure of how to arrange your accessories, this is a surefire way to get it right!

Aren’t these white and gold ceramic acorns from HomeSense beautiful? I love the elegant touch they add to this mix of different textures.

There are a lot of textures happening here but they really work well together, adding visual interest on this console.

I love to have the table set as decor during the seasons, I think it’s welcoming and festive and I also like to believe it adds an elegant touch that you don’t get to appreciate every day!

Here's a view from the dining room into the family room.

On this table I have lots of decorations grouped together – I Iove to layer textures and colors. Here, it’s neutral again, but the pears add a pop of color and life. Take a look at my previous Fall tablescape post here to see more details on this table setting.

I added these mustard color branches and glass cylinders – I love the way the yellow jumps off of the black wall.

I filled the containers with these gold glitter pumpkins and gourds from HomeSense.

I added my faux fur pillows to the settee for another layer of texture and warmth.

This is one of my favorite spots in our home - it's cozy and relaxing and even though we have an open concept home, this space is like a little getaway.

Our buffet is perfect for seasonal decor and because it visually divides the spaces it really allows for a strong focal point in our home.

Fall decor in the family room is very simple and minimal. We have a lot going on in here already, so I keep it very clean with just a few items on the mantle. This is a challenging mantle because of the television and speakers that are usually here – don’t tell my husband I took them away for my pictures! I don’t change everything out and replace my everyday decor for seasonal accessories. I love my coral too much to remove it! Just adding a few touches around is more than enough in this space.

My favorite accessories reappear here – I filled my hurricanes with mercury glass and glitter pumpkins. I wanted all white accessories with different textures to arrange up on the mantle but I couldn’t find what I was looking for. Instead, I moved a few things in here from my dining room table. I’m very happy with the results! You don’t always have to go out and buy new things – be creative and use what you have around your house!

I really do love how the silver and gold works up here and picks up on the gold accents on the shelves.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my tour. Seasonal decorating is different for everyone. I love to add touches of the season and for me that means simple details throughout our home that are repeated for a cohesive and consistent theme.
