FLOCKED CHRISTMAS TREE + GARLAND: SILVER, GOLD + WHITE DECORATIONS
Wow, I can’t believe we’re already here, the last weekend before Christmas! I know I am very late sharing our living room, flocked Christmas tree and garland, but better late than never, right? This Christmas season has been such a whirlwind! I am very happy to report that my shopping, wrapping and baking is all finished – that is HUGE for me. The next few days will still be so busy between cleaning, laundry, hosting and visiting, but at least the major work is all out of the way. I’m so happy to be able to spend time in this space over the next few days relaxing and enjoying it. I won’t write a whole lot in this post, I have a lot of images to share! Enjoy getting inspired, even if your home is already decorated! Since this is my last post before Christmas, I want to wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas! May you enjoy all the moments and blessings of this most wonderful time of the year. xoxo

OUR FLOCKED CHRISTMAS TREE + GARLAND
What I was most excited about this Christmas, was being able to create a welcoming and warm space with our newly updated living room. If you remember my reveal last month (see it here), we added new sofas, lamps and I recovered our ottoman with a more simple and elegant fabric. I absolutely love the backdrop these provide for my Christmas decor this year. I went with all neutrals – silver, gold and touches of white and cream, to keep the look chic, elegant and understated. A huge departure from last Christmas’ navy blue! If you’re new here, and haven’t see last year’s decor yet, you can see it here. I hope you enjoy this year’s look as much as we do!
Earlier this week, I shared a living room post featuring some amazing home decor finds that I absolutely love, to bring in some glamorous touches for Christmas. If you missed that post, you can find it here.
Today I want to give you a little bit of a closer look at our flocked christmas tree + garland. I’ve had a real tree my whole life, but have been using this gorgeous faux flocked tree for the last few years. I have to say, I never thought I’d ever go with a faux tree, but it makes your life so easy! We did get a real one too this year, and set it up in the basement for the kids – we decorated it last weekend with all of their handmade ornaments and many others I’ve collected over the years. They love it!My flocked garland is new as of last year, and I really love it. I adorned it with silver and gold decorations, tied with ribbon – such a simple way to dress up your garland and easily change it up each year. There’s just something about the magic of metallics combined with snowy flocked trees and garland at Christmas…I used two types of ribbon, both ivory and gold. This year, I used a different technique than in the past. Instead of smaller pieces of cut ribbon, I used the entire length and just tucked it in the branches as I went along, starting from the top down. I used six full rolls. You can head over here to see last year’s tree, which has the same effect with the ribbon, except I used short pieces.
OUR WHITE SOFAS ARE THE PERFECT BACKDROP
I am seriously in love with these white sofas – they completely change the look in here and add so much elegance to the room. The best part is they’re so comfortable and we love lounging in here every night. We cover them with throw blankets to keep them from getting dingy. You can live with white sofas, I’m telling you! Thanks as always for reading with me, I hope you can enjoy the last few days and the magic that the season brings! Merry Christmas to all! xox
Thank you so much Marion!! Wasn’t this year just crazy? So much going on it’s nuts! But I’m so happy to be finished everything earlier than usual! Your blog post with your girlfriends is amazing, congrats on a fabulous post! Merry Christmas to you!! xo
Thank you so much, Yasmin! That is such a nice compliment I’m so flattered! Merry Christmas to you and your family as well! xo
WOW! Stunning decor Tamara. I have been waiting and you did not disappoint, absolutely beautiful.
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
It was worth the wait! You must spend hours sitting in that room just gazing away at that gorgeous tree. I don’t think you were alone this year on being behind…at least you had an excuse!! LOL…you were redesigning living and dining rooms! I wasn’t doing any of that and time got away. I was able to sneak in two blogs this week and I am done till the new year too. LOL…Merry Christmas. I look forward to reading all you have to offer in the new year. 2019!!! YIKES
