SOPHISTICATED + CHIC FALL DINING ROOM DECORATING

| |

Happy November 1st! It’s so hard to believe we’re here already and before we know it, we’ll be decking the halls for the holidays. For now I’m back with another fall post – our chic fall dining room – and it doesn’t get more simple than this. If you’ve read my other fall posts over the last couple of weeks, then you know this season is all about casual, elegant, low-key decorating. Fall for me this year is about color, texture and an overall feeling of laid-back casual elegance. I’ve used gold faux leaves throughout our home this season, which you’ve seen in our fall living room and entryway. They’re the perfect simple seasonal touch. That being said, I chose not to use them in here, because I wanted the decor to be very simple, with my new ginger jars and velvet pillows (also in our fall entryway) to taking center stage.

SOPHISTICATED + CHIC FALL DINING ROOM

I’ve made a couple of updates in this room, one being our new rug, which compliments our entryway rug beautifully. Both have a vintage inspired feel with soft greys, beiges and blues. I’d been on the hunt for a new rug, since the previous one we had in here got moved to our daughter’s bedroom (see her room makeover here), and I’m very happy with how the size of this one fits the room much better than before.
Gorgeous + chic dining room decor that's classic and timeless.

It brightens our dining room which I love, and with our light blue chairs that I bought last spring, it sets the perfect stage. Another addition is the mirror that used to be in our entryway, before I made it over (see it here). If you remember, it was more of a distressed wood, and I painted it gold. I didn’t love how it turned out after I painted it, so it never got hung in that space! I pulled it out of storage, curious to see how it looks in here, and I’m loving the how the gold works against the cool grey walls.Chic dining room decorating with classic ginger jars and luxe velvet pillowsI’ve carried this fall’s ginger jar theme into this room as well, and if you saw my grey and gold color block ginger jars, from Lauren Haskell Designs in last week’s entrway post, then you’ll recognize these, and my solid white one too. I have two sets of three color block jars, and two of the large white ones, which also look gorgeous in my kitchen – don’t be surprised to see them in there! Lauren has an amazing home decor selection you will want to check out!

I’m just loving the simple elegance in our home this fall. I keep saying this, but you don’t have to decorate with what you think you have to for fall. It can be just as warm and welcoming with a focused color palette and a few key accessories.Sophisticated and chic dining room decor - crystal chandelier, gold sunburst mirror and classic ginger jars.Chic + elegant dining room decor - use settee with luxe velvet pillows to welcome guests.

LUXE VELVET GREEK KEY PILLOWS

Keeping with my muted color palette for fall, my new velvet greek key pillows, also from Lauren Haskell Designs, which made a debut last week as well, are the perfect addition to this space. Our dining room and entryway are open to each other, and the flow between the rooms feels just right with the ginger jars and pillows unifying the two spaces.Chic + elegant dining room decor - use settee with luxe velvet pillows to welcome guests.Chic dining room decorating - a classic, vintage style rug, crystal chandelier, upholstered settee and gold sunburst mirror are sophisticated and timeless!

These soft colors make my heart happy, and these pillows are truly luxe and beautiful. I love anything with a greek key motif. Classic and always chic and elegant! The beige (which to, me reads as a soft gold) paired together with the light blue is so gorgeous, helps to tie my color palette together and complete the look in this space. Keeping our fall decor simple this year has taken a lot of pressure off! I wanted an easy approach that would still feel welcoming but sophisticated. I’ve talked a lot about casual elegance this season, and my theme continues in our chic fall dining room too. Elegant dining room decorating with classic elements - crystal chandelier, gold sunburst mirror, vintage style rug and classic ginger jars.

Soon I’ll be updating our home for Christmas, and I’m trying to keep things simple for that as well. You’ll be seeing a lot of the soft muted colors you see here, mixed with some of my favorite blue and white, metallics of course, and greens. I’ve even thought of being a little daring and possibly throwing in a dash of deep red! Rest assured, it will be simple this year, no matter what.
