Greek yogurt dill dip

Last month, I shared my very simple and oh-so-yummy boneless Asian chicken thigh recipe – if you haven’t tried that one, you need to. Simple, quick, delicious, and a family favorite in our home. It’s such a simple and delicious meal everyone in our home loves it.

Fresh dill

My greek yogurt dill dip is another crowd pleaser whenever I make it. Everyone always wants me to make it for a party or family gathering – it’s a definite favorite among so many people.

I always get asked how it’s made and because it’s so easy and quick, everyone loves it even more.

Chopped fresh dill and yogurt

The great thing about this greek yogurt dill dip, is that you can use fresh or dry dill – whatever you have on hand. Honestly, I usually use the dry dill because I always have it in my pantry.

Today, I decided to combine them both!

TIPS FOR THE BEST GREEK YOGURT DILL DIP

Below are a few tips that bring this dip to another level!

  • I prefer full fat yogurt to low fat, as it has more richness, depth, and more flavor.
  • I also love to use fresh cracked pepper, also for ideal flavor.
  • Fresh lemon is preferable to bottled as well.
  • Even though you can serve this immediately, letting your dip rest for about an hour for the flavors to come together is ideal as well.

It’s something I made up on a whim one day when I was searching for an easy tzatziki recipe – I didn’t have all the ingredients I needed, so I winged it and this delicious greek yogurt dill dip was born.

It’s very important to note that one of the key factors in the success of this dip is using full fat greek yogurt.

It adds richness and so much more flavor to this delicious dill dip. I also happen to be a salt lover, so I’m usually pretty generous with my seasoning as well.

That being said, if you prefer lower fat yogurt that is totally fine – it will still be delicious. I just personally prefer the full fat yogurt and the one I use is 10% fat.

Fresh lemon is always more flavorful and fresh cracked pepper are preferred as well, and you don’t need much of it at all.

If you don’t have all the ingredients fresh – don’t worry! You can absolutely make this with bottled lemon, dried dill and garlic powder. It is still outstanding!

I’m not sure about adding the olive oil. I made without, and it’s delicious!

  7. This sounds amazing! We make several dips where we throw things together to use as sauces that are similar but haven’t tried anything with dill. So trying this over the summer with fish!
