FALL LIVING ROOM DECORATING WITH SIMPLE SEASONAL TOUCHES
I love this time of year! We just celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary this weekend! It’s so hard to believe the years have gone by so fast. Two kids, a bunny, an apartment and three houses later, here we are. I’m so happy to be sharing my fall living room decorating with you today!
You’ll find simple seasonal touches throughout, together with a beautiful and elegant color palette…a mix of blues, beiges and warm whites.
My color platte has been pretty consistent in our home over the last few years and I love to see how I can make it look fresh and new each season. Keep scrolling for more of this year’s fall living room decorating!

FALL LIVING ROOM DECORATING
Starting on our buffet, I used a mix of some favorte greek key ginger jars and decorative balls that I’ve had for many years, styled in a very simple vignette. It’s no secret I love ginger jars!
I often use a display of various ginger jars here, they always add visual interest, whether it’s a monochromatic collection, or a colourful one. Similar to last year’s fall living room, I kept my fall accents very simple and minimal, with a focus on color, pattern and texture.
I haven’t used traditional pumpkins or gourds in my fall decorating for a few years now.Instead, I opted for my elegant faux stems from last year’s fall kitchen, and just a few other fall accessories.
There’s something so interesting to me about creating a seasonal look in our home with just a few simple touches that I love…foliage, beautiful colors, the glow of a candle, a gorgeous print on a pillow, a luxuriously warm throw…
These are the things you’ll find throughout my fall living room decorating this season. You can still create a welcoming and warm space with minimal seasonal touches for fall!
GORGEOUS, LUXE FALL PILLOWS + COZY THROWS
This season’s pillows from Arianna Belle are the most luxurious ones I’ve had yet. I’m truly so lucky to be gifted with such elegant and luxurious pieces!
The designer fabrics are quite special and the color and pattern combination are just stunning.
If you saw my fall dining room post, then you may remember my San Clemente throw from Cailini Coastal – it’s a gorgeous compliment to my fall living room and new pillows, the colors are perfect.I’m using two different plaid patterns in our living room this fall and our new Sail plaid throw is just as gorgeous, with the same beautiful blue and ivory pattern.
They’re both so luxe and soft…we love them, the perfect layer of warmth for the season. Our new Cornelia pillows in navy have the prettiest print with deep tones that are so perfect for the season and my color palette.
I’ve been coveting this print for a long time and the added contrast piping in beige elevates the look of these gorgeous pillows. Soft, Powder blue velvet pillows create an anchor for my fall pillow lineup and I’m so in love with this color! You might see these at Christmas too.
A combination of luxe velvet, a beautiful shimmer and bold pattern with rich, yet soft colors was the look I was after this season. My Glimmer Champagne pillows are so beautiful and the fabric catches the light in the most amazing way!
The elegant greek key ribbon detailing is timeless and so chic.
These are most definitely something to hold on to for many years!
FALL STYLING ON OUR OTTOMAN
Our ottoman serves as our coffee table and I always keep my styling very similar here each season.
I found some new white trays that were a lucky HomeSense find (similar ones are linked below), and I’m loving them!
I like to use two together when I can’t find a square one that’s large enough.Trays are great for grounding my favorite accessories – design books, smaller trays, ginger jars, candles and pretty objects.
Typically, I’ll use a floral or foliage arrangement of some kind for height, and then display a few beautiful things atop some books as well.
Creating a display with varying heights is always a no-fail way to style a coffee table.I talk about this very often – shopping your own home is a great way to refresh your decor without spending a dime.
Many of these pieces I’ve had for years and some are new, but I’m always rotating my pieces around.
BOOKSHELF DECORATING WITH A FEW FALL TOUCHES
Similar to my coffee table, my bookshelf styling can also be similar each season, with a few simple updates.
Here, I added some seasonal accents along with color and texture. My seasonal decorating approach is pretty simple.
I don’t always have time for a full-on accessories flip in our home, so instead of stressing myself out, I simplify by making a couple of small changes. And as I said…shop your home!
Build a collection of favorite pieces and with some careful editing and curating, use them over and over, rotating through the seasons.
The easiest way to make some seasonal updates!
LIVING ROOM DECORATING FOR FALL
Here are a few more angles and a last look at our fall living room decorating.
If you look really close, you can spot Oscar, our lionhead bunny and some of his toys…he rules our house! With just some simple seasonal touches like new pillow covers and throws, faux leaves, added pattern, texture and color, you can create a gorgeous look for fall in your home.
HOW TO ADD SIMPLE FALL TOUCHES IN YOUR HOME:
- Update your pillow covers with seasonal pattern, color and texture.
- Add cozy throw blankets.
- Light a delicious scented candle.
- Bring in some earthy tones with woven textures, small wood accents, gold accessories.
- Keep fall accessories to a minimum, with just a few pieces dotted around your space.
- Keep the seasonal focus on color, texture and pattern.

Thank you so much!! xo
You’re so kind, thank you very much! It is easy to create a gorgeous space without spending too much! I appreciate your kind words! xo
Thank you so much! It’s considered ‘greige’ – somewhere in between! It’s called Collingwood by BM, a beautiufl warm grey. xo
I’m quite late in getting back to you! My sincerest apologies…the walls are Collingwood by BM, a very versatile warm grey, we love it – just make sure to test it in your space first! xo
Love your style! We just moved into a new home and I’m using you as inspiration. I also would like to know the color of the paint. Currently, all the walls are yellow—not a favorite of mine.
I’d like to know the wall color too. Is it gray or beige? Your decorating is stunning!
Understated elegance! Just shows that you really don’t have to spend a fortune to have a beautiful Fall living room. Thank you for the suggestions.
Gorgeous!
Hi Tamara:
What is the paint color on your walls and celing?
I’m loving the beachy, fall vibe!
