ELEGANT SUMMER ENTRYWAY WITH A FRESH COASTAL FEEL
Welcome back to another summer decorating post! Today I’m sharing my elegant summer entryway with – you guessed it – my favorite blue and white touches, coral, shells, and faux florals, for a fresh coastal feel. These are all staples in our home (many of you already know!), especially at this time of year. I kept it super simple and only changed a few pieces from my Spring entryway (see it here). I’m all about making it as easy as possible! Who has time to completely swap everything out every season? I definitely don’t! Come and take a look at the simple ways I changed this space to freshen the look for the summer months.

ELEGANT SUMMER ENTRYWAY: USE A LARGE FLORAL ARRANGEMENT
First thing’s first. Let’s talk about my hydrangeas. I LOVE hydrangeas. Who doesn’t? Fresh or faux, they are one of my all-time favorites, and nothing says summer to me more than a lush, beautiful bunch. This past spring our home was full of beautiful and vibrant blue hydrangeas that used as a bold statement for the season. This summer, it’s all about a light and airy look with loads of white and light blue touches.I am so in love with my oversized hydrangea arrangement – it makes such a gorgeous statement and is so welcoming as you enter our home. I kept the same ginger jar that I used for the blue ones to hold them, which has a very wide opening, so it can support and hold a large bunch beautifully.
If you saw my summer dining room post (click here to read it), you know that I added four new, light blue chairs in that space. I brought my beige upholstered chairs with nailhead trim into this space, to change things up a little bit. I love them here! I never used to have chairs here and at first, I was unsure if they were too much and too big, but now I’ve gotten used to them and I’m loving them! I also like to swap them with my blue chairs once in a while.
ADD LIGHTER TOUCHES TO LIGHTEN THE LOOK
I subdued the overall color palette and added a few touches to lighten the look – a textured woven lantern, a pair artichoke candles, a pair of light blue two-toned bowls, starfish and a small decorative box. I kept the coral sculpture and moved it to top off my blue decorative box, and placed my oversized ginger jar to the right of the table to complete the look.
It feels lighter and brighter, and although my spring decor could easily pass for summer decor just as well, I love the way this just feels a little bit softer.
This can be a tricky table to style because of the three shelves, I can’t use anything too tall because it doesn’t fit or you can’t see it, so bowls, boxes and books are always great pieces to use for that reason.
I think in hindsight, I could have added some more books under the bowls for an added layer, but I still love this look and the simple styling. No-fuss…I like to make things easy!

If you can believe it, soon I’ll be scheming up fall ideas, but I’m really loving the lightness of our home right now, it feels so good! We’ve changed so much around here in the past year, and we’ve gone from many dark pieces and rooms, to everything being light and bright.
I love the energy it gives to our home, it feels so good! I’m all about feeling good in any space, and the updates we’ve made here certainly help with that! If you’ve never seen the before of this space – you’ll want to! You can check it out here – it’s quite a dramatic change with only a few small tweaks and for less than $300.
