CHRISTMAS HOME TOUR : A CLASSIC FRONT PORCH WITH FRESH GREENERY

| |

Happy Sunday and welcome to the Twelve Days of Holiday Homes Home Tour! If you’re coming from Christy of 11 Magnolia Lane and you’re new to CitrineLiving, welcome! I’m Tamara, and today I’m sharing our classic front porch with Christmas front porch decor with fresh greenery.

I’m so happy you’re here with me today and I’m even happier to be a part of this fabulous home tour that’s been running since December 1st! I want to extend a huge thank you to Amy and Christy of 11 Magnolia Lane as well as Jenny of Evolution of Style for hosting our tour.

I adore Christmas porch decorations because they instantly create a warm and inviting atmosphere, spreading joy and holiday spirit to all who pass by.

Each year I keep my Christmas decor classic and simple, and I don’t usually change it that much. This year, I’ve tweaked it a little bit and I have a beautiful, fresh wreath that was shipped over to me from Lynch Creek Farm , who are sponsoring our tour. I can’t wait to show you, please come and join me on our porch!

CHRISTMAS FRONT PORCH DECOR WITH FRESH GREENERY

Set a magical scene and welcome your guests on your Christmas front porch this year with fresh greenery and the twinkle of white lights.

I began taking my photos for this post in the afternoon, and it was a rather grey day, so please bare with me as I take you through!

You’ll also notice the shift in the lighting as it started to get dark – I just love that blueish cast the washes over everything at the end of the day.

We’ve had a few light snowfalls this year, but nothing that’s lasted more than a few days on the ground. I was hoping we’d get lucky and I’d be able to capture some for this post.

It’s very common to have a lot of snow on the ground by now, but no luck today! Try to ignore the brown garden beds if you can!

If you’re a regular visitor, then you’ll remember our porch last year, when we updated our lighting – the snow at that time was magical! There’s something about that soft white blanket that instantly turns everything into a fairytale.

There’s just something about lush Christmas greenery that elevates your Christmas outdoor decor, bringing a natural and festive ambiance to your space.

This year, to compliment our beautiful Blended Bay wreath, I decided to add two pencil trees flanking the front door.

I wanted to draw your eye straight up to the the door and our lush, fresh wreath. This is the first time I’ve ever had a fresh wreath and I just love it. It might just be one of my favorite Christmas decoration ideas yet!

Living in a wooded neighborhood surrounded by pines, this is the perfect addition to our front porch. It’s the perfect way to welcome guests into our home for the holidays.

I always get fresh cut pine from a local florist for our planters and this year, I decided to make them as large as I could. We added a few lights for more twinkle at night, and I always use some silver picks for added sparkle too.

I dressed up our wreath with a combination of ribbons : a 3″ blue grosgrain, a blue and white stripe, as well as a navy and green tartan.

If you’ve seen my living room and dining room in previous posts, then you know I’ve carried this theme throughout our home this season.

DECORATING TIP

Add a charming touch to your wreaths by incorporating beautiful ribbons. Choose a ribbon that complements your color scheme and secure one end to the back of the wreath. Weave it through the branches for an elegant cascade or a striking bow. The addition of ribbons will instantly elevate your wreaths with a warm and welcoming charm.

Hi, thank you very much! We keep the soil from our summer plants, and then change it again the following summer! Thanks for stopping by! xo

  2. So pretty! How do you get the pine branches to stand up in the planter?

  3. Could you tell us where you got your pencil trees for the front porch?

  4. tamaraanka says:

Theyre actually custom wood shutters, with raised moldings…I regret going with these versus vinyl, only because we have quite harsh weather. That said, they have help up, they just need some occasional touchups!

  5. What type of shutter is that?

  6. tamaraanka says:

Hi! Unfortunately I don’t have any of the names – we built our home many years ago. But the siding is the lightest silver grey we could find, in vinyl, with all white trim. The doors and shutters are black, and the stone is a mix of warm and cool grey tones with mortar that is flush with the surface of the stone for a more aged look. I hope that helps! xoxo

  7. Michelle Lancaster says:

Could you please tell me the name of your exterior colors of siding, trim, shutters, front door, and stone? I LOVE it all!

  8. tamaraanka says:

Hi! Unfortunately I don’t have the name! We chose it among a selection from our builder and it was many years ago. I can tell you that we chose to have the mortar level with the stone rather than recessed slightly. Hope that helps!

  9. suzanne finn says:

    Hi
Can you please tell me the name of the stone on your home. It is beautiful.

  10. tamaraanka says:

Aren’t they gorgeous? They’re from Balsam Hill, and we put them in our existing urns :)

  11. ANN C VAN METRE says:

Where did you buy the Pine Pencil Trees Flanking your front door?

  12. tamaraanka says:

Hello Jessica! Thank you so much for your sweet words! Unfortunately I don’y know the name of any of the finishes it was all selected with through our builder about 9 years ago! I can tell you that the siding is vinyl and the shakes are as well, I believe. When we chose the stone, I went for a mix of warm and cool grey tones and we had the mortar filled flush with the stone, rather than recessed to have the stone stick out more. I’m sorry, that’s all the info I have! Good luck and congratulations on your build!

  13. Jessica Beyers says:

Tamara, I have your house pinned on my pinterest several times. We are in the process of builing and wondered if maybe you could give me a few more details about your house. I love stone and siding/shakes. Do you happen to know the brand and name of the stone, siding, and shakes? I would appreciate any help you can provide. Please email me if you can.

  14. tamaraanka says:

    You’re very welcome!

  15. Gayle Kowalchick says:

    Thank you!

  16. tamaraanka says:

Unfortunately I don’t know! It’s a mix of warm and cool grey tones, and the grout is flush with the stone so give it an ‘old’world’ appearance. I hope that helps!

  17. Gayle Kowalchick says:

What kind of stone was used on your home? Arriscraft Citadel French Country?

  18. tamaraanka says:

Julie, thank you so much! Don’t you just love this wreath? I’m so happy with it! I love your double doors and beautiful black and white ribbon! Thanks for stopping by! xo

  19. tamaraanka says:

Jenny thank you so much for having my join the tour, I’m so happy to be a part of such a fantastic group! I’m really happy you like my porch, thanks so much for stopping by! xox
