CHRISTMAS DINING ROOM DECORATING
If you’ve been reading along with me this holiday season, then you know that this year’s decorating theme is all about simplicity.
I can’t say it enough! I needed to make things easy for myself, with so many things going on lately. I’m sure many of you can relate!
So, I decided to dress our home with very simple Christmas decor this year.
As you look around our Christmas dining room and the rest of our home, you’ll find a very pared-back decorating approach throughout our holiday home…and we’re loving it!
HAVE YOU TOURED OUR CHRISTMAS LIVING ROOM?
CHRISTMAS LIVING ROOM
Elegant greenery, beautiful ribbons and bows, our Christmas living room is decked in blue, green and chinoiserie, of course!
I chose to focus mostly on simply dressed greenery and a heavy dose of ribbons and bows in the most beautiful soft green and blue.
I continued my color palette throughout our home and used a few ornaments and decorative pieces scattered here and there.
Simple, easy and elegant.
My favorite blue and white chinoiserie pieces – which is a staple in our home (ok…I’m a little obsessed if you’re new here) – are scattered throughout most of our home as well.

AN ELEGANT HOLIDAY TABLESCAPE
For my simple dining room tablescape, I used my favorite staples in silver, gold and white, to create this classic and elegant look.

CHRISTMAS KITCHEN
Our Christmas kitchen is dressed up with beautiful, simple greenery, blue and green accents, and our favorite chinoiserie touches.
For the centerpiece I created this full, lush arrangement with faux greenery picks (similar) I’ve had for many years, in one of my favorite large ginger jars, tied with gorgeous green ribbon.
I layered the table with a very simple table runner and fresh greenery, and set each place setting with my white and silver china and gold chargers, gold flatware and wine glasses.
A faux greenery sprig tucked into my silver napkins and gold napkin rings adds a layer of visual interest and a beautiful pop of color to each place setting.
Keeping with my simple decor theme, I used fresh pine branches for the center of the table, with fairy lights, votive candleholders, mercury glass Christmas trees and just a few ornaments nestled into some of the gaps.
ENTERTAINING TIP
Make a bold statement with a large arrangement like mine to use every day and replace it with a lower one when you’re entertaining guests at your table. You can even keep on the table to wow your guests until you’re ready to serve dinner.
SIMPLE DINING ROOM DETAILS
This is the view into our dining room from our entryway.
This year we put our Christmas tree on the opposite side of our living room, so guests can see it as they enter and passersby can see it from the street…I love the twinkle from this angle.
I really love the look of our greenery throughout each space in our home.
It’s incredible how truly beautiful it is on its own with just some simple ribbon.

OUR CHRISTMAS ENTRYWAY
Our entryway this year is styled with simple + elegant details with a modern approach and a little bit of nostalgia thrown in!
I tied small wreaths to the back of these two chairs for a simple and elegant look.
The mostly natural greenery, and blue and green color palette throughout our home this year brings a very calming and relaxing feeling that we’re loving right now.

I love your subtle color scheme and the consistent greenery throughout! I just got my carpets cleaned and I have to say I’m loving the fresh, clean feel, so I’m wanting to continue that feeling with my decor. I’ll definitely be taking a few pages out of your book with my decor this season!

Gorgeous as always Tamara! Those soft colors just make me sigh. I love the mini wreaths on the chair backs and the new location of the tree so that it serves both rooms. Have a very Merry Christmas!
This post fills my heart with delight! I adore the wreaths on the chairs. It is such a joy to be on tour with you.
Love your dining room! That tree is just gorgeous! Happy Holidays. Pinned.
Love everything about your “paired back” Christmas decorating. I can imagine sitting at your table in the evening and seeing the glow of that fabulous tree in the next room. And I love your attention to detail. Makes me want to be great friends with you but as I imagine it, I’d come visit your home with heels and a glass of champagne and you’ve visit me with sweat pants and tea. Do you even own sweat pants? ;) Enjoyed hopping with you today! Merry Christmas.
Your dining room is stunning…as expected! I always look forward to seeing how you decorate for the holidays. That centerpiece is amazing and I love the way you hung the wreaths on the chairs – beautiful! Wishing you a wonderful holiday season!

Your dining room is perfect and so elegant. I love the tablescape, especially the centerpiece with the fairy lights. And of course, your tree is gorgeous. The colors are soothing and calming and that’s a good thing during this often-hectic season. Thank you for sharing your inspiration and I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas.
What a beautiful tour! I love the color pallet in your home and how your Christmas decor complements it so well. The Christmas tree looks great there, and of course, it’s gorgeous too!
