Have you started decorating yet? Christmas is in full swing over here and has been for a few weeks…it’s been a ton of work getting it done (I’m still going!), but we’re loving our home all decked out. Last week, I shared our new Christmas tree and garland, all dressed up in gorgeous blue and gold, and today, I’m thrilled to share our blue and gold Christmas living room reveal with you.
If you’ve been reading with me recently, then you know how happy I am to bring these beautiful colors back into our home. With blue and white as a constant color theme throughout our home, I am in love with this year’s Christmas palette!
I hope you enjoy the details in our blue and gold Christmas living room!

BLUE AND GOLD CHRISTMAS LIVING ROOM
Did you know that blue, gold and white are traditional Christmas colors? I talked about this gorgeous color combination in my Christmas inspiration post last month.
They have true meaning in the Christian faith, and when I learned of their significance, it made me so happy to adorn our home with these beautiful colors. Our living room is central to our open concept home, and every Christmas I love to make this space feel as welcoming and cozy as I can.
The focus is always our Christmas tree and this year, our stunning new slim tree from Balsam Hill (similar) truly helped to set a magical stage in our home.
Gorgeous designer pillows in blue and white with gold detailing, from Arianna Belle, are so chic and elegant on our white sofas.
On our buffet, I usually love to group decorative trees in varying heights, and this year I kept things very similar to last year’s look with a collection of my favorite mercury glass trees and beaded trees.I love to use decorative trees, they’re a staple I rely on each year to decorate for Christmas and so easy to style and get an instant holiday look.
Grouping different ones together always creates a beautiful statement and the best part – it only takes minutes to pull together!

CHRISTMAS MANTEL AND GARLAND
I truly love how our Christmas garland turned out this year!
We hung it in a swag formation, using command hooks on top of the mantel on each end and a small nail in the center to secure it.
I wanted a full and lush Christmas garland and I created this look by layering many different elements together.
I used a combination of many ornaments in varying shapes and sizes, gorgeous luxe ribbon, gold magnolia leaf picks, frosted blue berry picks, silver berry picks and silver leaf picks. The secret to a lush and beautiful garland…layer, layer, layer!
BLUE AND GOLD CHRISTMAS BOOKSHELVES
I typically like to keep our bookshelves styled in a very simple and understated way throughout the year, especially during Christmas.
Since there are so many additional decorative elements throughout our living room, I like to use just some of my favorite pieces here on our shelves and keep things simple for myself too.
You’ll always find ginger jars in our home! They’re the best accessories to style with and they happen to be some of my favorite things.
Chinoiserie accessories in blue and white are always a staple throughout our home as well, and I keep some of my all-time favorites here year-round.Gorgeous ceramic Christmas trees with 22 karat gold painted edges, have also become a Christmas staple in my decorating collection.
My ceramic tree collection and ginger jar collection from Lo Home always help to create a stunning look.
You can see how I styled my ceramic trees on our kitchen shelves last year and also in our living room, two years ago as well.
ELEGANT PILLOWS STYLED FOR CHRISTMAS
It’s no secret I love to pile on gorgeous pillows in our living room each season!
This Christmas, I chose a soft and subdued look to create a clean backdrop for the rest of the room.
This stunning combination of blue, gold and white, boasts beautiful details in velvet, gold piping, white and gold ribbon trim and a chic, soft blue animal print.
I use feather and down inserts, always sized larger than the pillow itself, for a full and gorgeous look.
These gorgeous white velvet pillows with elegant gold piping add a layer of luxe to our sofas and are so elegant. Our new blue and white Les Touches print pillows are some of my favorites ever (I also have them in navy, check them out in my summer living room), and I love them layered with our new white pillows with gold fretwork.
There are so many beautiful details to love about these pillows and layered together, they’re the perfect mix for our holiday look.
CHRISTMAS STYLING ON OUR OTTOMAN
I always use trays to ground the pieces I’m decorating with when styling our ottoman.
Keeping things simple, I used just a few key items to create the look for the season.
Ornaments gathered in different ways are always a great way to decorate, and you have instant holiday decor. An ornament-filled gold bowl, a ceramic tray holding ornaments in different textures and sizes – Christmas decorating that literally takes minutes.
Design books are also a staple I love to use, that help to display simply styled pretties like beautiful gift boxes tied with pretty ribbon.
It’s all about layering seasonal accessories in simple and beautiful ways… it doesn’t have to be complicated!
Gold, blue and white are threaded throughout each element of our Christmas living room and we all love it so much.
My kids and hubby all love it and nothing makes me happier than when they love the way our home makes them feel.I’ll be sharing our Christmas kitchen, entry and dining room all very soon, so stay tuned to see those spaces coming to the blog.My focus this year was to create a luxe look with our Christmas tree and garland, keeping all other details around our living room simple and elegant.I hope you enjoyed touring our blue and gold Christmas living room and I hope you’re inspired to start decorating for the holidays if you haven’t yet. Create a gorgeous holiday home by layering and grouping seasonal accessories in simple ways…keep it simple! Thank you for joining me, I always love to have you here! Happy decorating! xo
Thank you so much Susan! I’m so happy to find a fellow blue and gold lover! I’m sure it is gorgeous…Thanks so much for stopping by to say hi! xo
It’s beautiful! I just came across your posts on Pinterest. I started decorating with blue and gold for Christmas a couple of years ago and love how it goes with the rest of my decor.
Thank you so much for the kind words! I have seen some beautiful sofas at Pottery Barn and Urban Barn, but not quite the same. You can always try to get a custom sofa made – Cameo and Avenue design (both Montreal based) could be options!
Hi Tamara, you have a beatuiful home, so thank you for the inspiration! Are there similar couches you would recommend that ship to Canada? It’s been a struggle. Thank you!
That truly means so much to me, I really;;y appreciate it!! Thank you!
Thank you very much! That is so kind!
Absolutely beautiful! Your home is lovely, and very inspiring.
I feel like I say this every year (and I truly mean it every year), but you out did yourself this year. It is just beautiful
