KITCHEN DECORATING FOR SUMMER: BLUE, WHITE + GREEN ACCENTS
Welcome to my summer kitchen! I honestly think this is my favorite look yet – not just in here, but all throughout our home. I’m loving having green and blue touches surrounding us…it just feels happy. I think we could all use a dose of happiness, and my summer kitchen decorating is definitely that!
New striped rugs (so perfectly summer!), my favorite ginger jars in gorgeous blues, vibrant green limes, punchy green apples, classic dried moss balls, faux and real hydrangeas, all wrapped up with my favorite blue and white chinoiserie pieces, of course. Come in and join me in our summer kitchen!
I’d like to extend a very big thank you to Safavieh and Lauren Haskell Designs for gifting product for our kitchen. Affiliate links are provided throughout this post – see my full disclosure policy here.
SUMMER KITCHEN DECORATING WITH BLUE, WHITE + GREEN
I’ve said it many times, I need to live in a hot climate. If I could have this look year-round in our home, I absolutely would. If you haven’t seen my summer living room decorating, you need to – click here to read it! So much blue and green happiness :)
I got really lucky when my hubby found the perfect mix of blue and white hydrageas for me at Costco last week. It is so hard finding plentiful fresh cut flowers where we live, and I was so excited when we discovered these beauties! Aren’t they just perfect in here? Such pretty colors and I love how they pick up all the other colors around the kitchen and our adjacent living room. The greenery in the leaves compliments the green accents on our shelves, and of course my cute little limes and apples.
You all know I love my faux florals too, but give me gorgeous blooms like these (that are still going so strong) in my favorite colors and I am happy!
KITCHEN SHELVES WITH GREEN TOUCHES
If you remember my spring kitchen decorating (click here to see it), then you saw how I styled our open shelves and the inspiration behind them. Adding touches of dried moss balls and greenery completes the look and am so happy with the results.
It’s incredible what the color green can do, and how much life it brings to any space. I don’t have houseplants (I kill them all haha), so adding faux greenery, or cut branches from the yard, is the best alternative for me! I love how our shelves look with all these pretty green elements scattered around.
GINGER JARS: THE PERFECT ACCESSORY!
I use these faux hydrangeas all over and I love the white blossoms in my pale blue ginger jar from Lauren Haskell designs. I’ve shared my love of Lauren’s gorgeous ginger jars from her online shop, shoplohome.com, where she offers so many color and style options.I flanked the range with my new custom blue jars (this color is FN-031), blue and white pieces and my large white ginger jars as well. I’m so obsessed with these ginger jars, they come in so many beautiful colors and I love this punchy blue addition in our home.Accented with my pretty green limes and granny smith apples, the result is a deliciously fresh take on summer ;) – and it’s so simple to use fresh produce to add a gorgeous dose of color. I am so in love with this summer kitchen decorating vibe and this crisp, clean color palette.
BLUE AND WHITE STRIPED RUGS = SUMMER PERFECTION!
I don’t think anything says summer more than blue and white stripes, and our gorgeous new Montauk striped 4 x 6′ area rug and 2 x 7′ runner from Safavieh are the perfect addition to my summer kitchen decorating theme.
They’re preppy and modern, casual and chic, and they brighten our kitchen with their soft blue and ivory tones.
I used this oversized light blue Turkish towel as a runner on the island, to play up the soft blues in the rugs as well. It can even be used as a table cloth it’s so big. I have a few in different blues and I just love them, they’re so versatile.
Our rugs lighten and brighten our space and bring that coastal feel to our kitchen that I love so much. They’re the perfect compliment to all of our blue, white and green kitchen accents.
I love having a runner in front of the refrigerator too, which is new for us – it balances out the rug on the opposite side of the island, and helps our space feel more finished.Thank you for reading with me, I’m always so happy to have you here. I hope you found some kitchen decorating inspiration today! Stay tuned for more summer decorating coming soon! xo
