SOPHISTICATED CHRISTMAS KITCHEN DECOR IN BLUE AND RED!
I’m so happy it’s this time of year! I shared our blue and red Christmas tree and I have to say, even though I was a bit nervous about my colors this year, I’m loving our holiday home more than ever. I’ve added touches of rich reds and navy blue, and I never thought I’d love it this much. Today is all about our Christmas kitchen decor, I hope you love the look as much as we do!
I’m thrilled to be joining my blogging friends again this year for the Holiday Home Tour, hosted by Amy + Christy of 11 Magnolia Lane and Jenny from Evolution of style. I love joining these fabulous ladies each year. If you’re coming over from Marty’s kitchen of A Stroll Thru Life, welcome! I’m so happy you’re here. I love Marty’s beautiful Christmas decor.

OUR RED AND BLUE CHRISTMAS KITCHEN DECOR
This year, Christmas is definitely looking different in our home! In all of my years of decorating for the holidays, I’ve never used red as a dominant color.
My mother always did (I talk more about that in my Christmas tree post), and our Christmas decor was always classic and so beautiful. Blue and white chinoiserie is one of my favorite things ever, and I always love to incorporate my collections throughout our home. This Christmas, it feels so good to bring it back!
Last year was all metallic neutrals with soft blues and greens (which I loved too!) – feel free to peruse last year’s Christmas decor look – I think you’ll love it too. There’s just something about a gorgeous red, white and blue combination with touches of greenery, that brings me back to something more traditional, and I love it.
CHRISTMAS KITCHEN DECOR: STYLING OPEN SHELVES
Our kitchen shelves must be one of my favorite parts of our kitchen – they’re always so fun to style. Keeping with my theme and my love of symmetry, I used some of my favorite pieces with a few faux pine branches and red ornaments.
I bought some inexpensive garlands from the dollar store and cut them up to place sprigs on the shelves. Never underestimate what you can grab at the dollar store!I often like to use some kind of symmetry on these shelves, they can be tricky to style without looking overdone. I balanced them out with some blue and white pieces to anchor the other items. A pretty bow and ornament dress up my white ginger jars. I use these jars all over our home.
How pretty are these beautiful ceramic trees from Lauren Haskell? Her shop is always one of my favorites! Most of my ginger jars are from there as well.
DECORATING AROUND THE STOVE AND RANGE HOOD
Our tiled wall is the focal point of our kitchen and I always like to make a statement here – a beautiful wreath on the range hood and thoughtful decor flanking the stove is often my go-to decorating formula for this space.
A chic tray styled with bottle brush trees, a beautiful ornament and a scented candle styled together is pretty way to dress up the stovetop when not in use.
A FEW MORE FESTIVE TOUCHES
I always add something to our kitchen barstools, and this year I decided to mix it up! I used two styles of wreaths on the back of the stools to add a little variation and fun.
I added the red berries to my green wreathes and found these gorgeous frosted berry wreaths at HomeSense. I couldn’t decide which to use, so I went with both, and I love the look! My faux floral arrangement on our island is gorgeous in my blue and white ginger jar. I just love the colors together.
I used the three bunches of the same white florals (from Michael’s) as next to the stove, three bunches of white hydrangeas and some extra berries. Does it get more festive than that? I went all out this year ;)
Styled on one of my favorite trays with a few things I love: a delicious smelling scented candle, a stack of pretty plates, a beautiful ornament… It’s definitely festive and merry in our Christmas kitchen! I’m loving the colors so much, and the red adds classic holiday cheer to our home.

Wow, you have such a well-decorated home! It’s so cozy and Christmasy! I’m having my kitchen cabinets redone by a local cabinet refinisher in a few weeks, and I love the look of your white cabinets and gold hardware. What color of white did you use? It looks amazing in your kitchen!
Tamara, I always love your kitchen and this year it is especially pretty with the pops of red. Each vignette is prettier than the other. Absolutely gorgeous and I loved your tree too.
I love it all!! And Blue and white chinoiserie is one of my all time favorites too. Can’t go wrong with it. Have a very merry Christmas!
xo Kayla
Your kitchen is already a stunner without Christmas decorations – I love it even more when it’s all dressed up! Beautiful!
Tamara, your kitchen is jaw-droppingly gorgeous! As a fellow lover of all things blue and white, it makes me happy just to look at it. I’m heading over to W-S to buy some of those little blue and white canisters right now. Thanks for touring with us again this year! XO, Christy
