BRINGING IN SPRING

| |

Citrine-Living-Spring_entrance13Spring is finally here and although the temps are still pretty cold where we live, the snow is almost gone. There’s nothing quite like longer days and that feeling when you sit down after supper and it still seems like it’s four o’clock! I’ve mentioned this before in previous posts, I don’t do a large amount of seasonal decorating. However, I do move my accessories around on a regular basis. Some things I store away and rotate, others I move from room to room.
Citrine-Living-Spring_entranceI brought in some of my brighter accessories to add a little punch and freshness to this space for the Spring season. Front-closet3The above shot showcases how it was styled previously – all neutrals and golds, which I always love!

Citrine-Living-Spring_entrance5I was craving some color so I decided to pull in some of my favorite blue items and my blue and white ginger jar, of course! I have a million uses and places to put them, so you see them everywhere in my posts! Speaking of which, I have an upcoming blog post on how versatile blue and white classics are, so stay tuned for that!Citrine-Living-Spring_entrance6Here’s a close look at what I brought in. I changed almost everything, except for the books on the top shelf, lamp and candlesticks. For color, I added the blue agate bookends (which I prefer to use as sculpture), some blue books, and one of my blue and white dishes. To keep it fresh looking, I opted for white and metallic accents, most of which are coastal themed. I love anything coastal and I keep them around for most of the year.Citrine-Living-Spring_entrance12These accessories definitely bring in the fresh look I was after. I have had many of these items for years and I’m always surprised at how much I still love them when I use them in different ways. There’s something invigorating about a blue, white and metallic combination.

That wraps up today’s post! Simple changes can have a big impact and the best part about it, is it cost me nothing because I already had everything! I’m leaving you with a very little sneak peek of my upcoming Spring dining room tour and tablescape, which I’ll be sharing in the coming weeks. For now, you’ll have to guess what is to come! I hope you enjoyed the small additions I made in here to freshen up our entry for Spring and that you found some ideas for your own decorating this season.
