A LATE SUMMER TABLESCAPE ON OUR PATIO
It’s been a really long time since I’ve shared a tablescape and I’m so excited about this one – a simple, vintage-inspired late summer tablescape that was so easy to create, it only took me a few minutes to pull together. What I love about this table is the elegant, casual feel and the warm and welcoming vibe it gives. We love to spend time outdoors in the summer and even though here where we live, the days are starting to get a little shorter and mornings and nights a little cooler now, there’s still plenty of time for outdoor entertaining. I love the idea of this simple vintage-inspired table for a casual brunch or simple lunch, but it can surely be used for a laid-back dinner as well. Come and join me on our patio and take closer look!

A VINTAGE-INSPIRED LATE SUMMER TABLESCAPE
I love dishes. In fact, some people may say (my family, that is!) I have a bit of an obsession. I love to collect them and what I love even more, is to mix different dish sets together when I’m creating my tablescapes. I love to tell a personal story about the things that have meaning to me throughout our home, and creating visually compelling, welcoming tablescapes is no exception for me. When I found these gorgeous pieces from Walmart’s Vintage Chic curated collection to mix with some of my own favorite tableware, I got so excited because I knew the results would be fabulous! These beauties spoke to me and I knew they would be perfect.I wanted a very simple but elegant table that would take no time to create. I found the perfect set of ivory scalloped dishes, beautiful and feminine blue and white heritage floral bowls with red floral detailing, gorgeous vintage-inspired glass tumblers (all from Walmart’s Pioneer Woman collection) and a set of elegant white pillar candleholders (from Walmart’s Better Homes and Gardens collection) to mix with a pair I already had, to get the look I was envisioning. The blues on the table are so pretty outside on our patio, and I’m so happy with how it all mixes together so perfectly with my existing pieces. Don’t be afraid to break up your sets once in a while! It can be so much more interesting than using the same setting at each seat.
CREATE A SIMPLE CENTERPIECE WITH FRESH FLOWERS FROM THE YARD
I love having my own hydrangeas in our yard and using them during the summer is such a treat! Nothing is easier than snipping a few stems and arranging them in a vase. I used a blue and white one (no surprise!) borrowed from my mother’s collection for this table, and it pulls all of the beautiful different dishware pieces together effortlessly. One of my favorite elements of this table is the set of these 3 beautiful candleholders added to the pair I had already. The white is such a pretty touch and I love having this many grouped together on a table. I think I’m going back for another set of 3 to add to my collection – at $19 they’re too fabulous not to!
A CLOSER LOOK AT MY BEAUTIFUL NEW PIECES
I love these heritage floral bowls! The added touch of the vibrant red detail is stunning with blue and white and I love the punctuation these bowls bring to the table. They’re so pretty set atop the ivory scalloped dishes, and my blue chambray napkins.I love their pretty detailing – red contrast scalloped edges, a printed border on the inside and the gorgeous pattern is so chic. My mother loved these when she saw them, so I’ve already ordered a set for her too – the apple does’t fall far from the tree over here! I love these sturdy glass tumblers too – there’s also a set of footed glass goblets that I’m kicknig myself for not ordering for this table! They’re added to my shopping cart because they’re too pretty to pass up! I broke up the ivory set of dishes and paired the beautiful bowls with my blue and white dishes – which are also mixed sets. These will be so pretty filled with vibrant fruit on a brunch table. Lastly, a closer look at my new set of candleholders – as I mentioned, I already had two that are similar, and another set of these would be gorgeous – all grouped together would be a stunning focal point anywhere – on a mantel, as a centrepiece, gathered on a tray. The sculptural lines are so pretty. What I really love, is that all of these new pieces cost me less than $100 ($91 to be exact) and the shipping was free! The selection at Walmart is unbeatable and the prices are even better. I love knowing I’m getting a great deal, especially for quality items that I love. And I love way these came together on my late summer vintage-insired tablescape.Thank you for joining me, as always!
