OUR LIVING ROOM REVEAL WITH NEW WHITE SOFAS FROM PERIGOLD
We’re well into November, and while I should be sharing mostly Christmas decorating posts by now, I’m so happy to finally be sharing my next big reveal with you today, our living room! Although this isn’t a complete room makeover, the changes we made in here have so much impact in this space, it might as well be. Our new white sofas have completely changed the look of this room, and I honestly didn’t even realize how big of a change it would be. When we first built our home, I had been dreaming of crisp white sofas in here, but lost the battle to my hubby Neil, who felt they’d get too dirty with two small kids. He was probably right (although I probably would have made sure they’d stay clean!), and we settled for our dark grey sofas that served their purpose for many years. We’ve been very busy bees lately, making many changes to our home, and if you missed my most recent reveal, our kitchen, you’ll definitely want to take a look (see it here). We’ve also been revamping our dining room, which is almost ready to reveal as well, as my third big makeover – with Christmas almost here, plus all of my other blogging commitments along with waiting for furniture pieces to arrive, getting things installed, painting walls and artwork, it’s been a little crazy to say the least. I didn’t quite anticipate getting these reveals finished only now, right in the middle of Christmas prep, but well, here we are! So, without further ado, I’m going to get right to it, I know so many of you have been waiting for this for months!
I’d to extend a huge thank you to Perigold, Pillow Time Girls and Emtek for partnering with me to bring these gorgeous new changes to our living room. While I’ve received product in exchange for writing this post, all selections, reviews and opinions are my very own. *Affiliate links are provided throughout, or at the bottom of this post for your shopping convenience – see my full disclosure policy here.

OUR LIVING ROOM REVEAL WITH NEW WHITE SOFAS
You guys won’t believe the difference these sofas make, we still can’t! Every time I walk into this room, I’m dumbfounded with the total transformation of this space. It’s light and bright, airy and elegant – exactly what I wanted in our living room, and I have to say, these sofas exceeded my expectations beyond anything I dreamed of, and so has the update they’ve made. The selection on the Perigold site is truly amazing and when I found these, I was pretty much sold right away. If you remember my post back in August, when I shared which sofas we were looking at (see it here), I went between two different styles. We decided on the Jaclyn Bench Cushion Sofa by Gabby, in Zulu Vanilla, because of their elegant and sophisticated lines and details. They are so gorgeous, and while we had to wait for them to be custom made and shipped, the wait was so well worth it. Even the white glove delivery service we received was amazing – they had to be carried all the way around the house to our back french doors to be brought inside! We truly could not be any happier.I have quite a few shots to share with you, so I’ll try to keep my post lighter on the words! But first, let’s take a look back at what our living room looked like before. Here are some shots from Spring 2017, Summer 2017, Fall 2017 and Summer 2018. Isn’t it amazing how the light changes throughout the year?! If you want to see what our living room looked like even before some of the below changes were made, you can read all about this room’s evolution here.
BUT FIRST, OUR NEW LAMPS!
Just one more little teaser before we get to the sofas! Another little gem in this room are our gorgeous new Chelsea House Lamps in cream, also from Perigold. I’ve been on the hunt for white or cream lamps for a quite a few years now (yes, years!), and while you can find them anywhere, I am extremely picky about details and lines. I also needed a certain size and height, something substantial to fill in the space, since we have 11 foot ceilings, and these beauties, at 31″ are just perfect.
These have clean, modern lines that I just love and the brass detailing is right up my alley – so gorgeous! The linen shades are tailored and crisp, and the lucite base is so chic. I especially love how they almost act as a prelude to what’s to come on the other side of the buffet.
Speaking of our buffet – you may or may not notice a small change – we had to cut the legs down, since our new white sofas are shorter than our previous ones. I was a little nervous to tackle that, and I was worried it might ruin the sophisticated lines of this piece, but I think it turned out just fine. Thank goodness for handy hubbies ;) It was a quick solution, rather than buying something new!
A CLOSER LOOK AT OUR NEW WHITE SOFAS
Here are our new Jaclyn Bench Cushion Sofas by Gabby, in all their glory, and I am completely head over heels, in love with them, I can’t even begin to explain. They have the most beautiful lines, exquisite detailing, and the quality is truly superb. I just love this view of our french doors and all of the layers of warm whites that lead up to them.I was a little bit hesitant at first, and I wasn’t completely sure about the single bench cushion, versus two or three cushions. My concern was the wear, and how they would hold up, since we tend to sit in the same spot when we’re lounging. We haven’t noticed any issues so far, and I plan to rotate them on a regular basis to keep them even, just like we did with the seat cushions on our previous sofas. Plus, the single bench cushion was too beautiful to pass up…another beautiful feature that makes our new white sofas unique and a little less conventional.
Let’s talk about these gorgeous details, shall we? Just look at that amazing arm detailing – the beautiful curve that leads right down to the key detail in the front. Who knew a sofa arm could be so darn beautiful and chic? And to top it off, the brass nailhead trim is the perfect sophisticated element. These new white sofas of ours had me at that arm… The curved shape of the profile is exquisite and I’m in love with the tailored skirt. I’ve always loved skirted furniture, there’s just something very grownup about it – I think that’s what I love the most about this room, it suddenly feels just a little more grown up.
OUR NEW OTTOMAN FABRIC
Did you notice our new ottoman fabric from Tonic Living? I’ve recovered this piece quite a few times in the last few years and I think this is my favorite choice to date. You may remember the ivory and grey stripe we had previously, which I truly loved, but it was just a tiny bit more casual than the sofas needed. Our new fabric, Toulous in Cotton is just what I wanted in here. It’s a little more tailored and clean, and the perfect compliment to our transitional sofas, with their crisp, modern lines.
OUR FABULOUS NEW PILLOWS
Let’s talk about our new pillows! Greek key is one of my favorite design elements and I love to use it throughout our home in accessories and textiles. I have been coveting greek key pillows for a very long time now and when I found these gorgeous pillow covers on Etsy from Pillow Time Girls, I knew I had to have them. They have an amazing selection of beautiful, handmade pillow covers and I was so excited when I found these on their site. I paired them with these classic trellis print pillow covers by Windsor Smith for Kravet, and I am absolutely in love with the combination. They’re elegant and crisp, and of course, I can’t help but be totally smitten with their nod to all things Chinoiserie that I always love. How about these fabulous blue ikat pillows by John Robshaw – they add a graphic punch that punctuates the room. You know I love my blues and I also have a love for ikat, and these beauties make me smile every time I look at them. I originally had them on the sofas mixed with my other pillows, which made the most gorgeous combination all together. But in the end, I decided that they worked better on our chairs and deserved their own moment of glory. I adore how they pick up and pull together all of the blues throughout our space.
OUR NEW BRASS AND GLASS DOORKNOBS
In case you didn’t notice them yet, we have another new addition to this space also – we’ve slowly been installing all of our stunning new door handles that we recently received from Emtek – they have the most incredible selection of door hardware and I can’t believe how much these elevate the look of our home. Stay tuned for more hardware updates in upcoming posts, and you can have a peek at our gorgeous new front door handle that I shared on Instagram here.
We chose the Hampton glass knob with the Wilshire Rosette in a French Antique brass finish. It’s elegant and timeless, and the glass knob is a modern take on a traditional design that I can’t get enough of. We’ve installed these throughout our home on all of our doors, and they add so much to each space, just like a fabulous piece of jewelry. They pop right off of our french doors so much more than the previous hardware we had, which was a brushed silver. We’ve been updating most of our lighting and hardware throughout our home to brass, and these new doorknobs help to finish it all off so beautifully.
I want to know if you love this space as much as we do! We loved our living room before, and it certainly served it’s purpose for many years. Now that our kids are older and they don’t spend as much time in here with us (they mostly hang out in the basement family room and their bedrooms), it was time for me to finally get the new white sofas I’ve dreamed of since we built our home, and a room that’s just a little bit more grown up. Oh, and for those of you wondering about keeping them clean, we’re going to spray them to protect them, and we also throw blankets down when we hang out in here. I admit, it wasn’t an easy sell and everyone opposed me on that idea at first, but they’re pretty used to it by now haha. What can I say, I have rules around here ;)
Most importantly, as beautiful, chic and sophisticated as our living room feels now, it’s not stuffy or too formal. It’s still a causal room where we hang out and watch TV each night, and I know we’ll be loving this space for years to come. Thank you for reading with me today, and thank you so much for your patience, waiting for this reveal! It took a little longer than I thought it would, but I think it was definitely worth the wait. I hope you do too! xo
Hi! Thank you so much! Our ottoman is years old and recovered a few times, but here is an affiliate link to a very similar one. Hope this helps!

Where did you get this fabulous rug??
Love it all.
Hi! All the trim in our house is Ultra Pure White by Behr :)
What paint color is the white trim?
Thank you so much Susan! The rug is linked in this post! But here is a direct affiliate link as well: https://rstyle.me/+rMqqHsclsUwv-wlasHHOQg Good luck, I hope it works! xo
Your blue and cream rug is to die for! I am obessed with it! I have been searching for 2 similar rugs for my open floor condo for 3 years…..this is exactly what I want. Can you share the information on this rug? I would be greatly indebted to you. Beautiful room by the way. I have a cream sofa as well.
Hi! These are by Christie Adelle – she’s a fabulous artist and has many beautiful pieces to choose from!
Could you please provide the source for the living room artwork? Thank you!
Great reveal. Most of us deal with incremental change when we live in a home. Did I miss the post on the paint colors? I am doing a greige given the elements I do not wish to change. Your living room paint looks similar.
I love how you changed the sofa’s ti this beautiful cream . I had asked on a earlier date about your wall color ( Collingwood ) and it is stunning and I plan on using it my home as I have the same color of rug and furnishings. Would you mind terribly sharing the remaining colors ? Such as the lower white and trim and accent door? I have such a hard time trying not to loose the beauty of my rug . I sincerely thank you for your artistic design ideas.
It FEELS so happy! Thank you so much for your kind words, we really are so thrilled with all of it, it’s exceeded our expectations! You’re so welcome – it really was just these few changes (although a big investment of course), but it doesn’t take much to transform a space in terms of switching a few key pieces…and the lamps and hardware are so, so good! Thank you again, so happy you like it all! xo
Thank you so much!! We love the cream/ivory tones versus stark white – for this room, I think it would be too cold! We have a lot of warm tones in our home and they are the perfect compliment! The fabric is called Zulu Vanilla and the walls are Collingwood by Benjamin Moore. The dining room is coming soon, I promise!! xox
Thank you so much Holliday!! You are so sweet!! We are so in love with it all!! xo
Thanks ladies!! Love you and can’t wait for you to see it all in person and come and have a girls soiree!! Love you!! xoxo
Thank you so much, Claudia!! It really is like a breath of fresh air in here we are in love with all of it! And we absolutely love all of our new hardware from Emtek – it’s amazing quality and craftsmanship!! Thank you so much for your kind words, so happy you like it all! xo
Summer, thank you SO MUCH!!! Aren’t they just gorgeous?? We are so thrilled with the outcome and how perfectly it all works in our home – I can’t wait to get my tree up in here!! Love you my friend, thank you for your sweet words, I’m so happy you like everything! xox
Thank you so much, Joanna! Aren’t the lamps so beautiful? I love the way they create a statement! And I am so happy you like these sofas better than the grey – I could not agree more!! This is our only living room upstairs, the kids are older now and hang out mostly downstairs or in their rooms – plus we throw down blankets! Thanh you again for your kind words and for taking the time to visit! I am thrilled you like it all! xo
Bree!! Thank you so much my dear friend!! I’m so happy you stopped by, and I am so flattered you like it all! Thank you! xox
Tamara, the transformation is absolutely stunning! Love the new sofas and the newly recovered ottoman! You know I love that black and white striped fabric. You did so so good on every single detail! I also love those new white lamps – stunning!
Gorgeous! Your table lamps are beautiful and make a statement before you even walk into the living room. Everything from the sofas to the brass give it an elegant appeal. I must say I like it much better than the grey.
I’m afraid if I picked white sofas, the room would be off limit to kids though. I’m assuming this is your living room/family room and you have no other option. Good for you! You knew what you wanted and how it would make your heart sing.
Tam! The arms on that sofa are so sexy and the sofa goes perfectly in that room! Such beautiful lines… Love the new lamps! This room was so gorgeous before but really… You took it to the next level! Brava, my friend!! 👏🏼👏🏼💕💕 What a perfect way to start the Christmas season!
Wow.. A breath of fresh air😍😍 ! Love love your new sofas…. And don’t you love Emtek Hardware ? I have their locks in my house and I just adore their products 🙌🏼..
Everything looks beautiful ! 👏🏼👏🏼
Love Love Love !!!! Blue and white runs in the family… !! Mom is true inspiration !!!
Everything is spectacular as usual….!!
Especially Sitoos horses..! xoxo
Your new sofas are GORGEOUS! I love all the new changes!
WOW!!! What a gorgeous transformation. You have inspired me! I have off-white furniture in my living room and I have been contemplating changing over to crisp white. Can you tell me what fabric choice you made on your couches? and what your wall paint colours are?
I am excited to see your dining room!!
The room is simply beautiful! I love the lighter pallet and it just seems happy. You must be thrilled. It really changed the room; thank you for sharing what a difference subtle changes can make. Those lamps are absolute gorgeous, they were worth waiting for and the new hardware is like jewelry for the room. Simply stunning.
