ONE ROOM CHALLENGE : MASTER BATH MAKEOVER WEEK FOUR
It’s Week Four of the One Room Challenge and things are really moving along! I can definitely see the finish line ahead, and what’s even better, is that for the first time ever, the challenge is extended for another week! The reveal was to take place November 9th and will now be November 16th – which is amazing for so many people and it will give me some extra time to put on those finishing touches! As a reminder, the ORC is a six week (now seven) blogging event, hosted by Linda of Calling it Home. Twenty featured design bloggers are asked to create an entire room and all other guest bloggers who’d like to join in on the challenge may do so as well. I’ve joined in as a guest participant, if you’re just joining me for the first time. I can honestly say our project has gone so smoothly and is rolling along beautifully. We’ve had a few minor hiccups, but nothing that wasn’t expected. I am LOVING the process of our master bath makeover and seeng my vision come to life is a lot of fun. You can have a look at our progress here :

Today I’ll be sharing some progress shots and a few sneak peeks that I think you’re going to love! If you remember last week, the moldings were installed on the upper walls and the room was really starting to take shape. This past weekend, I spent two days getting everything painted and what a HUGE difference it makes! The trim took several coats to cover the wood completely.Such a big difference with the bright white walls compared to the grey-green we had previously. In the image below, the wall above the vanity is still waiting for the custom mirrors – I picked them up yesterday and they’re going up as we speak! I think that will be the game changer here. The white panelling and paint completely transformed our bathroom, but I’m pretty sure those mirrors are going to take it to a whole new level. I’m not sure I’ll be able to hold off sharing until Week Seven! Here are a few little snippets of what we’re looking like right now. The custom roman blind from Tonic Living is stunning and I love the warm tones it brings to our room, helping to balance out the warmth of the brass. If you remember, I love to mix metals. Warm and cool tones can work very well in harmony – once all of the finishing brass details are in, it will make a lot more sense! We installed the new toilet, which has detailing similar to our moldings. I’m loving the traditional feel and how much more beautiful it is than our previous one. Even the handle is pretty. Who knew you could love a toilet so much?!I’ll be hanging artwork on these two walls, and I’m in the process of working with an artist for a couple of framed prints to put here. Gold frames and abstract art…it will be so gorgeous!I’m loving our new blue and white garden stools next to the vanity. The grey of the vanity has a blue undertone and they coordinate beautifully together.Again, here is a little reminder of where we started. You guys! Our to-do list is shrinking down considerably and I can’t even believe it! Take a look at what we have left to do :
CUSTOM MIRRORS – Installing this week!
TRIM AROUND MIRRORS – Installing and painting this week!
WALL SCONCES – Install once mirrors are up
SHOWER FIXTURES – Remove the old ones, install the new ones
FINISH IT ALL OFF WITH ACCESSORIES AND ART!
And if you’ve missed the first three weeks, below is my mood board I shared from the beginning of the challenge.
I want to extend a very big thank you to The Mine for being the main sponsor for my project, and to Tonic Living for my beautiful roman blind – everything you see here is linked below!
