MY DAILY BEAUTY ROUTINE + MAKEUP PRODUCTS!
Since we’re all doing a lot of staying at home these days, I thought this was the perfect time to share my daily beauty routine and makeup products with you. I work from home already, so with everything that’s going on, sticking around here is not that new for me. I’m used to it. That said, I’m not driving our kids around 3-4 hours daily like I normally do!
Even though I work at home every day normally, and I’m at home a lot more now, I still put my makeup on and do my hair every single day. My daily beauty routine is much lighter when I’m at home and not leaving the house, that’s for sure, but I always blow my hair out and put on my makeup basics, no matter what.
I feel so much better when I put effort into the way I look, and when I feel better, my day is that much better and I can even say, more productive. It’s important to me to make every day a beautiful day!

SKINCARE PRODUCTS
I have a confession. I have very little patience for a full skin care routine…I’m a little lazy even though I know how important it is! That said, I never go to bed without cleansing and moisturizing and the same goes for my morning routine.
I have two different lines that I usually go between, depending on the time of year, how lazy I am haha and my budget! I love to spritz my face with a refreshing face spray from Mario Badescu – one that my thirteen year old daughter told me about! I use it right after I shower, before moisturizing each morning. It helps to wake me up too!
Facial Spray – Mario Badescu with Aloe, Chamomile + Lavender
Cleanser – Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser
Cleanser – Neutrogena Oil Free Facial Moisturizer SPF 15

BASE MAKEUP PRODCUTS
All-day makeup starts with the right base! I am a full coverage foundation girl, and my routine is pretty packed. I always start with a foundation primer – it is like night and day when you use one – and this Smashbox Primer is the best one I’ve tried yet. Smooth and even, and it allows for a great foundation application.
I then apply my foundation with my foundation brush, and then follow with my beauty blender sponge to remove excess and blend under and around my eyes. I have two different ones from different brands (I love both) that I use, depending on the season. Next step is my concealer, also under the eyes and onto my cheekbones – a small amount only so it’s not too cakey – this step isn’t an everyday thing, it’s more for full makeup for going out.
Lastly, I use my powder brush to apply my powder foundation – I’ve used L’Ancome Dual Finish for 25 years. Hands down my very, very favorite. I often press on a little more powder on and under my eyes with either the puff or sponge that comes with it, to build it up a little.

Foundation – Teint Velours by Lise Watier, Neutral (only available online in the US)

MAKEUP PRODUCTS
I always start with my brows (I’ve tweezed for so many years, I have no choice to fill them now!), and my daughter is the one who found me the BEST brow filler by Anastasia Bevery Hills – it stays put all day, I love it. Next, I apply my blush, bronzer/contour and highlighter, then a natural eyeshadow for day or a more glam eyeshadow combo for night.
A perfectly drawn line on the upper eyelid is always the perfect touch, and my Glossier eyeliner (another fabulous find from my makeup guru daughter!) is the best I’ve ever used. Last is my mascara. I’ve never been into pricey mascara since it doesn’t last that long, and I find Maybelline has the best drugstore line. Right now my fave is Maybelline Lash Sensational. Set your makeup (usually for when I’m leaving the house) with a setting spray so it lasts longer.
Bronzer (I use as contour) – Lise Watier, Havanna (only available online in the US) – here is a similar one, Nars Bronzer Powder

BRUSHES + SPONGES + TOOLS
You really do need great tools to apply makeup well. Keep your makeup brushes clean by making sure to wash them regularly with a brush cleanser (I’ll even use shampoo!) and they will last for years. I’ve always wanted to invest in a really high quality set of brushes, but that would be more of a splurge for me…one day! Instead, I’ve bought various brushes over the years and I still love them.
I also don’t own a ton of brushes, and actually, I would love a few new ones to add to my collection! I have about seven basic brushes that I use, they do the trick just fine. I definitely love to indulge, but I can most definitely get by with just the basics…I always have!
Foundation Brush – Sephora Pro Foundation Brush #56
Powder Brush – Sephora Pro Powder #50 (mine is #40, discontinued)
Blush Brush – Mac 116 Blush Brush
Brow Brush – Mac 208 Angled Eyebrow Brush
Eyeshadow Brush – Mac 258 SHader Brush
Eyeshadow Brush – Mac 219 Pencil Shadow Brush
Eyeshadow Brush – Mac 287 Shadow Brush
Beauty Blender – Dual Coverage Foundation Blender
Tweezers – Tweezerman Point Tweezer
NAIL POLISH + CUTICLE OIL
I love to do my nails, and I find the more regularly I give myself manicures and polish them, the stronger they become. I can be prone to nails that split and break. Over the years I’ve indulged at times in either acrylic or shellac manicures, both which literally ruined my natural nails.
I’ve always used Nailtiques #2 Protein Polish to bring them back to health, and I like to use it as a top coat regularly as well. Nothing is prettier than a fresh manicure and I don’t know about you, but if my nails look good, I feel great! It really makes a difference in my day.
Essie Vinyl Polish, Lace Me Up (similar)
Cuticle Oil – Sally Hansen Cuticle Oil
HAIR PRODUCTS + TOOLS
Just like having a fabulous mani, having fabulous hair is a huge thing for me. Even bigger! My hair can take on a life of it’s own and I have naturally wavy hair (not so nice on it’s own, trust me), so I need really good tools to tame it. I don’t use expensive shampoo, I just stick to very affordable drug store brands.
I’ve used the same hair dryer for years, but have gone through about five of them, because they do die after a few years of daily use. The Elchim 2001 is my hair dryer of choice, because it’s not too expensive, and it’s super hot and powerful. A round ceramic brush is the best kind for my hair, and although I only wash my hair weekly (yes, it’s true!), I still smooth it out with my dryer daily. If my hair looks great, I feel great! I get my color done at the hair dresser, although with what’s happening right now, I may have to do it myself!
Hair Dryer – Elchim 2001
Round Hair Brush – Chi Turbo Ceramic Hairbrush
Shampoo – Marc Anthony Argan Oil + Keratin
Hair Serum – John Freida Frizz Ease
Dry Oil Spray – OXG Renewing Weightless Healing Oil
That wraps up my routine – I hope you found it informative and I also hope inspiring to get you into a daily beauty routine if you don’t have one now. I’ve always loved my makeup and treating myself to getting ready every day helps me face the world and anything that lies ahead for any day! xox

These are awesome thanks for sharing Tam xo
You’re welcome!xox
Thank you! ♥
Yes, I do! I don’t wear eye makeup or anything like that. I’m a makeup person, always have been, always will be! I do my base, a little blush and eyebrows (always my eyebrows because I have so little left, ha!). Don’t worry I’m not going out in public, unless of course I have to go to the store. Putting on my basic makeup and doing my hair always gives me a better start to my day. Even my normal weekend routine would be the same if I were home the whole time…staying home or not, I always do the same thing. I must get it from my beautiful mama – she always had her makeup on every single day too! Thanks so much for reading, Edie, stay healthy and safe!! xox
Tamara, are you still wearing full makeup when we are home bound and sheltering in place with the Corona virus? I just wondered if you maintain this routine when we are not to go out in public. Again, I thank you for sharing this part of your life with us.
I’m so happy you find it helpful and thank you so much for such a kind compliment!! Wearing makeup is a fabulous thing, I’m so happy you’re inspired! xox
This is very helpful. I tend to give myself days off from full makeup, but I’m older, and I need makeup every day. You are an inspiration!
