CHRISTMAS TABLESCAPE IN CLASSIC RED TARTAN

I’ve been sharing more and more red accents in our Christmas decor over the last few years. It’s timeless, classic and always brings a sense of nostalgia, which I absolutely love for the holidays.

I’ve shared many Christmas themes through the year, but for some reason, anything with red warms my heart – it’s that nod to the past that makes it so special.

Plaids and tartans are bigger than ever right now – and I love it! I layered two, 60 x 120″ tartan tablecloths over my table 54″ round table, which gave me the base to create this stunning Christmas tablescape.

Gold chargers, nostalgic Christmas dishes, mixed with my own china – this set is very similar – along with my mother’s silverware, simple, elegant glassware and tartan napkins (similar to mine), all combined, make the perfect classic and festive table.

I love the green edging on these dishes and how it pops off of my gold chargers. The Christmas tree motif is so classic – I’ve shared this collection a few times with other pieces that I absolutely adore.

There are so many pieces that coordinate in this collection, and it’s such a beautiful way to celebrate the season.

Simple, classic wine glasses are the perfect glassware to complement all of the busyness happening on my Christmas tablescape – they let all of the other pieces shine.

You’ll notice that I’ve mixed metals here – something I’ve talked about through the years – I love it! Especially for Christmas, you can absolutely mix silver and gold, it’s festive and so chic. Don’t be afraid to experiment!

My centerpiece was very easy to pull together as well. You really don’t have to stress when you’re creating a table for the holidays. Some candles, a floral or greenery arrangement and a pair of hurricane lanterns always do the trick.

You know I love my blue and white chinoiserie, you’ll always it threaded throughout our home. I already had this greenery arrangement and it’s so easy to recreate.

Any low container will suffice – this is a small planter (this one is similar) filled with greenery picks and red berry picks. Simple, effortless and chic.

I especially love looking at my Christmas tablescape from a distance – the red tartan is so classic and gorgeous and truly sets a beautiful scene and the perfect tone for holiday entertaining. You’ll see a lot of tartan and plaid in our home this season!
