CLASSIC CHRISTMAS DECORATING IN OUR LIVING ROOM: LUSH GREENERY, LAYERED PLAID, CHINOISERIE, ELEGANT TOILE AND LUXE VELVET

|

Welcome to our Christmas living room, where you’ll find classic Christmas decorating in layers of lush greenery, mixed plaid, timeless toile, blue and white chinoiserie, navy blue and white linen pillows, gorgeous velvet and a traditional, elegant look that we love! If you saw our Christmas tree last week, you’ll see more of it today, along with our mantel garland, styled in the same theme of beautiful mixed plaid ribbon, navy blue velvet ribbon and blue and red berry picks. The rest of our space is styled very simply for the season, with just a few key decorative elements throughout. I’m trying to pare back a little bit this year, so you won’t see too much Christmas decor, but rather, more focus on pattern and texture throughout, which exudes a gorgeous, traditional feeling in our home – I wanted it to feel sophisticated, elevated and elegant, but still warm and welcoming. I hope you love our Christmas living room as much as we do. Enjoy!

OUR CLASSIC CHRISTMAS LIVING ROOM

As you enter our living room, you’re greeted by our buffet and our blue and white lamps, flanking a simple, yet elegant display featuring a gorgeous, lush greenery arrangement and red mercury glass Christmas trees.

Our lamps are dressed up with mini boxwood wreaths and classic red plaid ribbon tied in a cute little bow – simple details that have a preppy chic feel that I love. You can see our color palette and Christmas theme in our entryway and dining room as well.

As you continue into our living room, your eye is drawn to the focal point of the space, our Christmas tree standing in front of our patio french doors and a simple, beautiful wreath, adorned with a gorgeous toile bow, hanging between them as well.

With our Christmas tree in front of our french doors, the natural light that comes through also highlights the beautiful colors in our living room and you can see our holiday theme is carried through to our sofas, garland and bookshelves.

CLASSIC CHRISTMAS MANTEL AND BOOKSHELVES

This year, our mantel and bookshelves are dressed beautifully with the same classic esthetic as our tree. Pretty and neutral digital art on our tv sets a cozy scene!

Our garland is styled with layers of gorgeous greenery, chic ribbon detailing, which is the same as our Christmas tree, berry picks, our blue velvet stockings and this most beautiful and elegant toile bow as the centerpiece.

The rest of our shelves are mostly monochromatic in blue and white, with some greenery touches as well. The pieces you’ll find styled on our shelves are often the same, because I love truly them so much!

I dressed up my ginger jars with a mini boxwood wreath and added the pretty red plaid ribbon tied in a simple bow, the same as our lamps on our buffet.

Keeping mostly everything in the same color palette with just a few hints of red, keeps our bookshelves from competing with our garland, which is the showpiece here.

I love our rechargeable lamps flanking each end of the garland, along with my beautiful hurricane lanterns – layers of warm light that add the perfect glow in our classic Christmas living room.

You know by now that I love to mix prints and patterns and this plaid and toile mix has my heart!

It’s elegant, chic and just so festive and beautiful. These toile bows from Cailini Coastal are exquisite! It all creates a truly beautiful layered look on our mantel and coordinates with our gorgeous ruffled toile tree skirt.

GORGEOUS CHRISTMAS PILLOWS

The gorgeous pillows you’ll find throughout our home this Christmas are just stunning! They’re from Paloma Living and these beautiful navy blue and white linen pillow covers are from the Navy Luxe Collection.

I absolutely love them mixed together with my red plaid pillows – it’s a very chic look and they’re so perfect with my Christmas color palette this year.

The embroidery detailing is exquisite – especially the chinoiserie fretwork on the navy blue ones, and I always love pillow covers with piped edges for a more refined look.

I always love to use symmetry throughout our home and I love how our gorgeous pillows also echo the symmetrical display on our buffet.

SOME CLASSIC CHRISTMAS DECORATING DETAILS

Here’s a closer look at our buffet details – beautiful red mercury glass Christmas trees (similar) and a traditional and elegant greenery arrangement in an elegant champagne bucket (similar). Simple, elegant and so classic!

A few closeup details of our ottoman as well with simple, elegant styling using some of my favorite pieces that you’ve seen in our home through the seasons and over the years as well – gold candlesticks, white Christmas churches, red berry wreath and candle.

Details on our bookshelf – some of my favorite ginger jars embellished with greenery, berries and mini boxwood wreath tied in a cute bow with plaid ribbon, as noted above.
