CLASSIC FROSTED CHRISTMAS SUGAR COOKIES

Easy + delicious sugar cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Butter, room temperature I like to use salted butter for this recipe
  • 2 Cups Sugar
  • 4 Eggs
  • 5 Tsp Cold water
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla extract
  • 7 Cups White flour
  • 1/2 Tsp Baking soda
  • 1 Tsp Baking powder
  • 1 Pinch Salt Only if using unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and sugar in stand mixer using a paddle attachment

  2. Add vanilla, water and eggs, mix thoroughly

  3. Combine all dry ingredients in a separate bowl

  4. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients

  5. Combine everything in mixer

  6. Once thoroughly mixed, remove dough

  7. Form dough, cover with plastic wrap and chill in fridge for 1 hour

  8. Heat oven to 350F

  9. Remove dough from fridge and cut into sections to roll out

  10. Roll dough on a floured surface under a sheet of plastic wrap

  11. Cut cookie shapes with cookie cutters

  12. Bake 8-10 minutes

  13. Once cookies are cooled, frost and decorate!

Recipe Notes

This recipe makes quite a large amount of cookies, I always cut it in half and it makes plenty of delicious cookies!

You can also freeze this dough for up to 6 months.
