WINTER TABLESCAPE

CITRINELIVING_WINTER_TABLESCAPE1.jpgHappy New Year! I hope you had a fabulous time during the holidays. It’s so hard to believe it’s January already! I took all of the Christmas decor down right after Christmas, I really like to have a fresh start as soon as it’s over! Today I’m sharing my Winter themed tablescape using mostly things I already own, some of which you’ve seen before. There are a couple of new items on here, but not many! The point is that you can create unique tables reusing what you already have. CITRINELIVING_WINTER_TABLESCAPE2.jpgIf you follow me on Instagram you may remember my post the other day showing these glittery foliage picks in my glass jar – they were Christmas decorations that I purchased this year for the tree and I threw them in here when I was cleaning up. They’ve stayed ever since – I really like how they sit in front of the window and they were my jumping off point for this tablescape. I absolutely love them! CITRINELIVING_WINTER_TABLESCAPE3.jpgIt’s all neutral, using natural elements with a touch of glam to ‘up’ the sophistication factor a little bit! I’ve had many questions on my capiz chandelier and unfortunately I purchased it locally many years ago but you can find two high and low alternatives here and here.CITRINELIVING_WINTER_TABLESCAPE4.jpgI layered my table runners from HomeSense crosswise rather than use a tablecloth. I like to buy runners in pairs because they’re so versatile. I’ve found some beautiful options that would work perfect for a winter theme. You can find them here and here.CITRINELIVING_WINTER_TABLESCAPE5.jpgCITRINELIVING_WINTER_TABLESCAPE6.jpgAs I was working this table it evolved from using placemats (visit my Instagram feed to have a look) to this more simple setting. I had this mirror and decided to use it as the base for my centrepiece. If you know me, I love to layer and this is a great way to do just that. It also adds reflection and grounds the table.CITRINELIVING_WINTER_TABLESCAPE7.jpgThe decorative balls are from around the house, again items I already own. They add interest and texture. I like to prop items on these wood and antique brass candleholders from HomeSense as well, for an alternative to using candles. Think outside the box when you’re building your table! I always walk around the house to find interesting items for layering. You can find similar candleholders here.
CITRINELIVING_WINTER_TABLESCAPE8.jpgThe zebra pillow and napkins (Shhh!! I didn’t iron them!!) are a hint to my nature|anilmal element that I have going on. I really like to mix different patterns with my plates and linens – don’t be afraid to try it! Not everything needs to match and coordinate perfectly – I’m a HUGE advocate for creating interest this way! I purchased the napkins years ago but here is a perfect option for you.CITRINELIVING_WINTER_TABLESCAPE9.jpg CITRINELIVING_WINTER_TABLESCAPE10.jpgCITRINELIVING_WINTER_TABLESCAPE11.jpgI used crystal candleholders as well as other glass elements to keep the feeling and airy and light. I’ve used these for so many years – they go anywhere and suit every occasion. I’ve found some beautiful ones here.CITRINELIVING_WINTER_TABLESCAPE12.jpgThe gold chargers are from Walmart, one of my new purchases – they were only about $2 each. Here are some others for you – a high and low.CITRINELIVING_WINTER_TABLESCAPE13.jpg CITRINELIVING_WINTER_TABLESCAPE14.jpgAre these the cutest or what? My super stylish sister in law gave these to my sisters and I for Christmas – the girls always do our own little gift exchange and it’s so fun! We don’t spend a lot and we always find the most unique gifts for each other! I just adore these! I don’t have the source but I found these very chic gold pinecone shakers here.CITRINELIVING_WINTER_TABLESCAPE15.jpg CITRINELIVING_WINTER_TABLESCAPE16.jpgCITRINELIVING_WINTER_TABLESCAPE17.jpgCITRINELIVING_WINTER_TABLESCAPE18.jpgCITRINELIVING_WINTER_TABLESCAPE19.jpgBy now you’ve seen this mercury glass jar a gazillion times in my Instagram posts and here as well. You need one of these. It’s one of  my favorite pieces that finds a home no matter where I put it. I’ve found a similar one for you here.CITRINELIVING_WINTER_TABLESCAPE20.jpgCITRINELIVING_WINTER_TABLESCAPE21.jpg

GET THE LOOK OF THIS TABLE :

There you have it. Simple to do and honestly, I happened to fall onto this concept literally by accident, just while cleaning up. In other words, look around your home and find things of interest that you can use to tell a story on your table – if you don’t already know that about me, I’m all about making a unique statement that tells a personal story! I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know your thoughts, I always love to hear from you! Tamara xoxo
