Happy Mother’s Day to all of you amazing mothers out there! I made this print for my mother to give to her today for mother’s day. For years she has kept this psalm written on a piece of paper on her kitchen counter. I see it every time I’m there and every time I read it it it gives me peace of mind. I can certainly understand why she has it there. She is a deeply spiritual person and rather religious. She goes to church every Sunday (something I wish I could start doing for myself and my kids) without fail. We were raised going to church and Sunday school, but our church is very far and was always difficult to get to each week. I would go to a different church nearby as my friend’s family was very involved there. I loved to go and sing in the choir, it truly gave me an amazing foundation. Although I’m not overly religious, I am spiritual and I do believe in my faith very deeply. We were married in our church and our kids were also baptized there. It seems that the older I get, the more I find comfort in knowing I have this foundation to believe in and I try to instil it in my kids as well. I definitely have my mother to thank for it and I wouldn’t be the woman I am today without her.
She has never given up her faith, no matter what. She inspires me so deeply with her devotion and has always been my mentor, my guiding light, my hiding place. My sister thought this was a quote that described the meaning of mother when I showed her, and I thought that it was quite fitting. We should all be so fortunate to have a mother who can fit this description. I know mine certainly does. Happy Mother’s Day to all you mothers who devote your every cell to your children…Happy Mother’s Day to you, mom, I love you more than you will ever know! xo
