FALL ENTRYWAY DECORATING: SOFT TONES, TEXTURES + LAYERS

| |

Today I’m sharing my first official fall decorating post – wow the months have flown! We’re already past mid September (seems impossible!), our kids are in school full-swing, the weather here turned very quickly – leaves changing and everything….fall is here, and so is my fall entryway decorating!

This year, I’m keeping it simple and light in our entryway with soft colors, tones, textures and layers. With a little touch of navy blue as an introduction to the rest of our home, which features rich, luxe colors and elements for the season. Stay tuned for more coming soon!

On another note, our fearless leader, Marty, from A Stroll Thru Life, normally hosts this tour, however, very sadly she has gone through a very devastating loss this summer. You can read about Marty’s journey here and here. She is such a true inspiration to everyone. She’s even joining the tour today, which is just so incredible and admirable. Please keep scrolling to read about my fall entryway decorating, and to see everyone else I’m touring with!

I also want to thank Linda, from It All Started With Paint, for taking on the enormous challenge of hosting for Marty. This tour wouldn’t be possible without the amazing support of this most wonderful community! Thank you SO MUCH, Linda! If you’re coming over from Suzy of Worthing Court, welcome to CItrineLiving! Isn’t her style so welcoming and beautiful? I’m thrilled to have you here today, I hope you enjoy your stay!Elegant fall entryway decor with soft tones, textures and layers.

Let’s get on with the fall decorating, shall we? I decided to keep our natural woven rug that I brought into this space this summer (see that post here), because of the gorgeous texture and soft, light color.

It adds a beautiful touch that feels so light and airy.Entryway decorated for fall with soft collars and textures - bring in an elegant touch with gold, blue and white! I brought back our upholstered stools (find similar here) from our living room – I love these so much – they work anywhere I put them, and are the perfect element for layering.

They’re gorgeous under our console table, where I love to style different pieces and keep it interesting (see more console table ideas here). They work so well with layered books, throws and pretty objects.Foyer console table decorating for fall - gold, blue and white, faux branches and fruit are a gorgeous welcome for the season!Layers of soft beige, cream, pale and navy blue, ginger jars and gold are most often the colors you’ll see in our home.

I love to find different ways to use my favorite color combination each season. An elegant entryway decorated for fall with touches of navy, gold, beiges, soft blue and white. My faux Lonicera branches are from Michael’s last year (I think you can still find them in-store), and I love the soft touch of gold-green-yellow they bring into this space, especially paired with my pale blue ginger jar.A beautiful and elegant entryway console table layered with ginger jars, gold lantern, gold fruit and faux branches.

Throw blankets, design books, bowls, faux fruit and pretty objects layered together are always a good thing too :)An elegant fall decorating vignette with beautiful ginger jars, faux fruit and branches, and gorgeous gold accents. FALL ENTRYWAY DECORATING: THE DETAILSA beautiful fall console table, elegantly decorated with ginger jars, gold accents and faux branches and fruit.

If you know me well and have been reading my blog for a while, you know of my love for blue and white and ginger jars.

You’ll find them all over our home each season. This fall, I brought in two of my all-time favorite jars, that my mother finally gave to me after years of pleading!

I love these pieces and like my stools, they work anywhere I use them.Fall decorating with ginger jars, faux fruit painted gold, a gold lantern and faux branches. Layered with some favorite books and gold accents, like these new hand-painted (by yours truly) faux fruit – the combination for fall is delicious!Gorgeous gold painted faux pomegranates are perfect for fall and holiday decor!

I was on the hunt for gold pomegranates, which I could not find anywhere, so I did what I do when I can’t find something, I try and make it.

I bought these faux red ones and grabbed my handy gold craft paint (find similar here), slapped on a few coats, et voilà!

The result: chic and elegant gold pomegranates! An elegant display for fall using blue and white ginger jars, faux gold painted fruit and faux branches. A gorgeous fall display with gold faux fruit, blue and white ginger jar and oversized gold lantern.

They turned out so gorgeous, I bought more for my kitchen. I mixed these with some already painted faux gold apples as well.Gold painted fruit, faux branches, ginger jar and a gold lantern are perfect for a beautiful fall display. FALL ENTRYWAY DECORATING: THE COMPLETE LOOKElegant entryway decorating with a chic console table adorned with blue and white ginger jars, faux gold fruit, a gold lantern and faux branches.

I always love symmetry, and although this vignette isn’t perfectly symmetrical, I tried to give the illusion that it is.

I used my large gold lantern (find similar here) on the right side of my console table, to balance out my golden-green hued faux branches.

I could have added a ginger jar instead, but I wanted to have some visual interest and bring in a strong gold element to make a statement. Beautiful and elegant entryway decorating for fall with blue and white, gold and soft textures and layers.I love the soft, light tones mixed with that gorgeous punch of navy in here for the season.

I’m using navy and darker blues in the rest of our home this fall, and this is the perfect way to introduce this rich, luxe color as you enter our home, and of course it compliments my favorite jars :)Entryway decorating with blue and white ginger jars, gold accents and soft neutral layers for fall. Beautiful faux gold fruit and ginger jars for fall decor are elegant and effortless! I’m very happy with how all of these decorating elements work together.

I will admit though, it took me quite a few tries to get this to look how I wanted.

Decorating is about experimenting and having fun! It’s never perfect the first try.
