FALL DECORATING : OUR NEW MASTER BEDROOM BEDDING
I’ve been talking about our new master bedroom bedding for a couple of months now, and I’m so happy that today I can finally share it with you! It’s so different from anything we’ve previously had in our bedroom and we could not be happier with it. I love to change our bedding every couple of years for various reasons. First of all, since I’m an avid ‘seeker of new things’, basically I like to change up our look often. Secondly, I like to have fresh, new bedding – it always seems that after two or three years, it’s time to replace it for something crisp and new. So here we are, I think this may be our fourth new bedding set since we’ve lived here, and it may very well be my favorite one too.
*Affiliate links are used in this post, for either the same, or similar items in our home, for your shopping convenience. While I make a small commission, it is no extra cost to you! A very big thank you to Tonic Living for providing our pillows. While I have received them free of charge, everything was chosen by me, and all opinions are my own! Let’s get right to it and talk about the design choices I made in here…My goal was to achieve a classic, tailored look, but with a glam twist. The duvet has gorgeous greek key detailing that I am in looooove with – the top stitched ribbon adds that little bit of old Hollywood glam to the room that I wanted, and is also the perfect crisp and preppy detailing, which I love. The navy blue is as classic as it gets.
My inspiration was drawn from one of my favorite designers, Barclay Butera, who has the most impeccable style – one that is classic, timeless and elegant, but always with an unexpected twist.

If you saw my Fall home tour last week (see it all here), or my Fall tablescape post (see it here), then these sexy, leopard Bianca (find similar ones here) pillows from Tonic Living are very familiar to you…they’re also in the living room and dining room this season, and play the starring role throughout our home this Fall.
I’ve used them as a common thread throughout, and the stunning print adds just the right amount of sophistication to our home.If you remember, the last time I shared our bedroom this Summer (see it here), I had just found this sunburst mirror and planned to paint it right away. It was a beautiful silver, and I loved it as it was, however I had been torn about whether or not to paint it, since it was so pretty! But my soul was just begging me to paint it gold…so, I followed my gut, and I knew that if I brought my idea to fruition, it would complete the look I had envisioned. The gold ties everything together in the space, and brings balance to the room – definitely the right decision! Our new sheets are simple and classic, the navy pinstripe reinforces the tailored vibe and adds a masculine edge to the bedding. I love the tension between the masculine and feminine elements that are happening – it adds contrast and at the same time they compliment each other beautifully. I call it our masculine meets glam bedding. There are four patterns happening here, but they all work seamlessly and are pulled together through the cohesive color palette.
I’m really crushing on my gold paint job :) Now it’s time for some pillow talk…we’ll start with our new blue print pillows, with their gorgeous bohemian influenced, paisley ikat combination. They’re called Boho Passage, in Lapis, from Tonic Living. These are actually indoor/outdoor pillows and what I really love about that, is that I can use them outside on our patio next Summer. I’m always rotating, swapping and trying new things, and I always love anything that’s multi-purpose.I love how they add richness and layer pattern in our bedroom and coordinate so well with the detailing on the bedding and striped sheets. To purchase them, you can click here.
Our new yellow Ashcombe pillows (for similar ones click here), in Saffron, are the icing on the cake for me, and they tie this whole look together with that unexpected twist I’ve been talking about. I always love to throw in something that you wouldn’t normally think of, to bring a look to another level. They’re rich and luxurious, the fabric is heavy and has a gorgeous woven geometric pattern. I just adore these, and together with the leopard Bianca pillows (find similar ones here) they add the perfect punch of wow factor I was looking for.
Honestly, this combo is stunning and just so exquisite in person. They make me very happy. I like it when pillows make me happy ;)
I shared our new living room rug last week in my Fall home tour (see it here), which I had first ordered for our bedroom. Don’t ask me how I ordered the wrong size, but I did, and we ended up swapping it with the living room rug, which we’re now using in here. I was so disappointed at first, I had my heart set on our new beauty for our bedroom, but as it turns out, I like to think of it as destiny…it was meant for the living room and this one works great in here too.It took me a while to get used to at first, but it’s grown on me, and I especially love how the light color helps to brighten our bedroom even more – it provides great contrast for our dark bedding. Although, I may need to start seeking out a new one eventually ;)You may be wondering why I have no blue and white pieces from my collection in our room. Truth be told : when I shot my home tour last week, I had it all styled (and still do), in the main living areas of our home, and only brought in my one little greek key plate, shown above. Looking back at these photos, I think I could have used a ginger jar or two in here!
